Answer:	I don't believe it gets rid of cold sores, but, it keeps your lips moisturized so you don't get cold sores, especially in the Winter months.

Answer:	No, although some say it is. The blue tube is the first lip balm I’ve ever used that doesn’t leave my lips chapped and peeling, and I’m almost 70. The purple one is heavier, has a different flavor, and does not work for my lips. I don’t know if they changed their formula but this *is not* the same.
