If you’re wanting to know if the color fades over time, then the answer is yes (as with almost every lip product I can think of). If you’re wondering if the color is permanent, the answer is no. I really can only think of two sub answers to this: 1) you’re searching for a lightening product. There are products for this, some of which you can make at home out of things like honey and lemon juice. I suggest googling this to see what different options are available. 2) a lip tattoo? I’m unsure if people tattoo lips (I know they do eyebrows). But as with all permanent tattoos you would need to spend quite a bit of money for that. Also, tattoos are made by using a fast pulsating needle with ink that goes under your skin. As for anything other than lip lightening, I’m unaware of any product that changes your lip color over time (someone feel free to chime in if I’m wrong!). Sorry I couldn’t answer better! | Answer: | I might be able to help in a general sense since I used several different searches online and could not find anything stating whether this is a broad spectrum sunscreen. I suspect that it likely because we (the US) probably came up with the term and this is a product for the Asian markets. Before I get to my personal answer, Biore is owned by a company called Kao and you can always go to their website and email them this question for a more definitive answer (https://www.kao.com/global/en/). So, broad spectrum means a sunscreen passed a test that measures a product’s UVA protection relative to is UVB protection, but how that test is conducted, I do not know. We do know that this product is listed as SPF 50+ and SPF measures protection against UVB rays. It is also rated PA++++ which is a measurement used in Japan that has to do with UVA protection. While PA++++ is the highest level of UVA protection according to this rating system, PA ratings are not measured by time like SPF. If that makes you nervous, it’s apparently true that most countries combine UVA and UVB protection within the SPF rating and this product does have an SPF rating 50+. I use Biore sarasara UV in the blue bottle when I know I'm going to be outside in the Texas heat doing yard work. It stays in well and keeps me from getting burned. |

| Answer: | Yes - the Biore Watery Essence is definitely more gel-like, spreads more easily and quickly, and evaporates and sinks in more quickly, I believe due to the higher alcohol content. It has a more noticeable citrus scent. I like all of these qualities! The Shisheido is more lotion-like, spreads less easily (but is not difficult to spread, just spreads a little more slowly than the Biore), and takes slightly longer to sink in (again, not a problem, just slightly longer than the Biore). I like both formulations and have already repurchased the Watery Essence. Watery Essence was fantastic this summer when it was extremely hot and I was sweating all day long. I could reapply on my face and I didn't feel gross by mid-afternoon or like I could scrape off a huge thick layer. I would rather reapply something light than have a thick coating that feels gross. I haven't tried the Shisheido in very hot weather yet. I could see the Shisheido being perfect for cooler, non-sweaty weather. I was planning to use the Watery Essence with a moisturizer or heavier serum underneath in cooler weather. |
