When you are talking about L'Ascorbic Acid this can be true because L'Ascorbic Acid requires a very low pH to be stable, and niacinamide a bit higher (5+). Our Vitamin C is derived from Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which is a highly stable form of Vitamin C and requires a higher pH, as niacinamide. Question:	I'm looking for a product for my dry, flaky facial skin. I see "cetyl alcohol" in the ingredients. Doesn't "alcohol" dry out theskin
Answer:	I googled this about cetyl alcohol. "Cetyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol used as an emulsion stabilizer and opacifier, adding body and viscosity to creams and lotions, and improving texture and feel with its characteristic velvety texture. It imparts emollient properties to formulations due to its absorption and retention in the epidermis where it lubricates and softens the skin. Useful in creams, lotions, and scrubs; it can also be used to increase the melt point and improve the texture of whipped butters and lotion bars." All that said, I wouldn't choose this cream for dry, flaky skin...it seemed a little thin to me (which I like as I'm using other products as well). I encourage you to check out cetyl alchohol; it sounds like it actually enhances lotion's ability to moisturize by forming a barrier that water can't penetrate thereby preventing dry skin. Just my two cents. I hope it helps and that you find a great lotion for your skin.

Answer:	It only lasts a short time so I have given up on it. I found Wunder 2 - for under your eyes and a tiny bit works great - lasts all day and until I go to bed. It also acts as a lightner. I love it. And $20.

Answer:	This is the best thing I have ever used. I do not use anything under it. Just wash my face with safeguard soap, rinse and dry it. Than I apply this item and let ti dry thoroughly. I do use a light dusting of powder foundation. I like the Philosophy super foundation air brushed canvas and a little blush. I do use eye makeups and lipstick. This lasts for hours. I use my serums like Hyaluronic acid and Synthe 6 plus retinol serum and a light cover of cream. My skin looks the best it has ever looked. I will be 82 next month and most people think I am in my 50's. This is much better than plexaderm. I do not use sunscreen .

Answer:	I'm not black, but I've used serum followed with moisturizer for years.....really feels good in dry dry skin in winter!

Answer:	i'm not sure but it's the most wonderful creme that I've ever used. I use the Lift and Luminate for night but I use it day and night. It holds my makeup on all day and it smells good. The day creme doesn't do the same.

Answer:	I have somewhat sensitive skin and this has caused my entire face to break out in tiny, small pimples and whiteheads. I had high hopes but this isn't the product for me.

Answer:	You should use Lift and Luminate products. It’s for more mature skin. I love how they have different products for different ages. I’m 50 and it works great. Although I don’t know what “Boots” means. I get mine from Ulta and decided to compare prices that’s why I’m looking on here for questioning and reviews.
