Answer:	No, but it charges quickly. As soon as I'm done I plug it in for about 30-60 minutes and it seems to keep its charge.

Answer:	I have tried a number of brands over the years, I can not speak for braun specifically, but I have always gone back to this model of Panasonic. It is my absolute favorite epilator I've tried in my lifetime. I owned the older model of this epilator and used it for over 5 years until I lost it. Then I purchased this one, an updated model of the same one, and it does not disappoint.
