If the device doesn’t turn clear within a minute, the water is likely not hot enough. Try heating the water a bit more until the guard turns clear. Answer:	I don't think that the Dentek people have answered this question with is the one being referred to in the question. I believe it is this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WTCK4Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1, which I have used and there is no boiling as described in one of the answers. Another answer describes it as too big. This might refer to it, but my experience is that it fit well and I have a small mouth. And the Dentek is adjustable; it can be adjusted even smaller than how I set mine. I used this Plackers guard for the first time last night, and I was surprised to like it better! The guard is quite small - it only goes to my 2nd-to-last molars, but this is their intention from the picture on the package. I was unsure about not having my back molars covered, but actually it worked out better. The guard prevented my molars from touching, and therefore grinding. The pressure from clenching that usually leaves my jaw achy in the morning (even with guard protection) was significantly less (barely noticeable), and was in the mid-teeth area instead. The guard is made of a cushier material (though the Dentek is comfortable and effective) which might be why it works without going all the way back. I am really happy with this. Because my dentist recommended switching guard types around to not get too used to one, I will probably still used the Dentek sometimes. But this is my primary nightly one now.

To have the snug you need, once you see the mouth guard curling in the hot water, take it out right away, spread it and mold it in your mouth- don’t be scared



the plastic guard won’t scald your mouth. Make sure while it’s still warm in your mouth to push the plastic towards the upper part of your gum (if molding for upper teeth) to get the snug and fit you want.



Meanwhile Let your tongue help in molding the inner side of the guard. Make sure you have a wooden spoon dipped in ice and water to pick up the dental guard from scalding hot water. If your water is not hot enough and didn’t boil, molding it will be a failure!

Close your mouth and suck hard on the mouthguard, pull your lips tight together and move them around. Answer:	Hello Dimitri, the smartguard dental guard is made of two soft and medium hard materials. They are both moldable and comfortable to the mouth. The harder material is not a rigid hard material but strong enough to withstand any grinding or clenching due to the unique front tooth only design. When this material is in a full Arch Night Guard mouth guard design some people can grind through it within a week. The front tooth design reduces the body's ability to clench and grind so hard there for you will basically never grind through this guard because your clenching and grinding are reduced so much.
