The directions say to wear the mouthguard for only 3 days but I get about a week depending on how much my life makes me GRIND MY TEETH! My dentist was going to charge me over $550 for one made for me, but I just can't figure out how I would make it clean enough after awhile, so these fit the bill for me, and it will be quite awhile before I amass $550 worth of these. Answer:	I generally use one for 2-3 weeks at a time and haven't noticed any issues doing so. I just use one until it feels worn out (they do get "softer" over time). I used to wear "daily" disposable contact lenses for a week or more as well without any problems. I could be wrong, but it seems to me these companies want you to go through their products quicker than necessary so they can sell more products.

How Do I Achieve a Custom Fit?

Step 1: Add Heat

1. Fill coffee mug half full with tap water.
2. Microwave the water for 3 minutes. Let stand for 30 seconds. Remove the mug from microwave.
3. A slotted spoon: for placing and removing the M3 Naturals Mouth Guards from the hot water
4. Using a slotted spoon to keep hands away from hot water, immediately place your M3 Naturals Mouth Guards face down (grooved side down) in the hot water for 2 minutes.
5. After 2 minutes, use the slotted spoon to remove your M3 Naturals Mouth Guards from the hot water. Place it on a plate, sticky channel side up. Let cool ten seconds and proceed with fitting.

Step 2: The Fit

1. Using a mirror as a guide, center the M3 Naturals Mouth Guards in your mouth. Make sure your front teeth are slightly behind the front edge and bite down firmly. Sink your teeth as far into the soft material as possible. Try not to let the biting process push it forward.
2. With your teeth clenched, use your thumbs to firmly press the soft material sideways into and against the outside of your teeth all the way around your mouth. Pushing the material sideways into your teeth and not up and into the gums is important for a correct fit.
3. Open your mouth and use your thumbs to firmly press the soft material sideways into and against the inside of your teeth all the way around your mouth.
4. After the material has been pressed into the sides of the teeth, continue biting down firmly for at least 30 seconds.
5. If the length of the dental protector extends beyond your back molars, the dental protector can be trimmed with scissors.

You will know that you have successfully completed the fitting process if the M3 Naturals Mouth Guards stays on your upper teeth when your mouth is open.

*If you do not achieve a fit that stays locked in place, the product should be fit again with the same process.

Question:	Can I use this with dental crowns
Answer:	Definitely! I have 9 crowns overall--all from TMJ treatment 20 years ago--and these work great!
Question:	how to use
Answer:	For me, it seems to work best with the zig zag piece across the bottom of the teeth, and though I have a lot of room in my mouth, I use it on the shortest setting. It seems to fit better if it doesn't cover several teeth, but just the first molar. This is like other mouth guards I have used....they tend to misalign my teeth, which float back where there supposed to be. I really do not know how that can be good for my teeth, and I probably still grind my teeth on the spacer, just not against each other. I have gotten sensitive teeth because of grinding, and I do wonder if you still grind on plastic, will the sensitivity go away or am you stuck with it? A question for my dentist next time.

Answer:	I don't think so. This is made for an adult mouth. My kids have retainers to stop damaging their teeth. They look just like retainers for keeping teeth straight and they work like a charm. You have to get those fitted at an orthodontist or a dentist that does Invisalign. Most charge $50-100.

Answer:	I hate the new one too! I bought this because the close up picture is like the old ones, and I was surprised when the package arrived. I started having terrible tooth sensitivity on my upper cuspids and realized it was due to the new mouth guard. I readjusted the guard and the sensitivity is not as bad, but I really don't like the new version.

Answer:	Thanks for reaching out about Plackers Grind No More® Dental Night Protectors! The guard can be cleaned simply by rinsing with cold water. It is not necessary to soak it in denture wash but some enjoy that technique. We recommend the guard be replaced at the first sign of excessive wear. Excessive wear signs include deep divots in the bite pads or thinning of the bite pads; any changes to the structure of the guard. For most users those signs of wear begin to show after 1-3 nights of use, but not all.
Question:	How do I make sure I get the hardest and strongest night guard
Answer:	I wear mine all the time during the day because I tend to chew the insides of my mouth (anxious habit). It helps immensely!

Answer:	Make sure you charge it fully before the first use which can take 24 - 48 hours. This will extend the life of the battery.
Question:	How do you know whether you should get an upper or lower guard
Answer:	I believe in the instructions it mentioned that out of the box it's in easy mode. That's the default. In the 1st 14 days it's supposed to gradually increase to the max power. To bypass the 14 days you press and hold the power button a few seconds. That's supposed to put you in max mode right away. I know the instructions also had a brief description how to go back to easy mode but I've just had mine on max since the beginning. You may have unknowingly put in max mode but it should be fairly easy to put back in easy mode.

Question:	How does this mouthguard adjust
Answer:	I no longer recommend this item. However, adjustment is made by sliding the sides back or forward. These are why I no longer use this style, woke up with the sides detached and lucky I did not swallow or choke. Currently using temporary guards found at Kroger, 10 pack for14bucks, lasting about 6 months per 10. Besides falling apart, my dogs loved to eat the expensive guards, I spent over 200.00 on 4 Sleepright guards.
Question:	Can a four year old use this product
Answer:	No, I think a four-year-old would need to see a dentist. This product is for adults.
Question:	I'm afraid of choking on it in my sleep. How is it secured in your mouth
Answer:	I have been using these for over a year and never choked on it. It is too large to swallow. The device is plastic, the parts that keep your teeth from grinding are "T" shaped. The "bottom" part of each "T" is what rests between your teeth, it is about half the size of a postage stamp and 1/8-inch thick. The top part of the "T" sits between your molars and cheek and is about the size of 1.5 postage stamps. It has 4 small 1/8-inch holes in it with are used to adjust the size. Think of the "T's" as being on their side, with the lower part of the "T" facing in toward your tongue, the top part of each "T" between your molars and cheek. The two "T's" are connected with a plastic strip that is about 0.25 inches wide and 1.75 inches long (whose overall length can be made longer or shorter using the holes mentioned above). This strip is a flattened "U" shaped and connects the two "T's" by fitting under your lower teeth around the gum line. The entire unit is made mostly of soft plastic except the part you bite down on, that is much firmer. All together it can adjust from about 3.5 to 4.5 inches long.It has enough "big" pieces that it won't go down (or get caught in) your throat. In addition the pieces are "T" shaped, with holes, and is long enough, so even if somehow it did get in your throat, the "T" shape and the holes will always allow air to pass. I cannot see how this would be a choking hazard.I tried three other different kinds of guards. I tried the very expensive football guards (ones that include $10,000 dental insurance), inexpensive guards that you see basketball players wear, and a smaller version of that "U" shaped design made especially for grinding teeth. They were all uncomfortable. The sports ones were huge, rubbed up against my tongue and cheeks, and were uncomfortable. The smaller "U" shaped guard made specifically for grinding teeth was a bit more comfortable, but fell apart after about a month. I like the Dura Guard because it doesn't rub up against your tongue, it's comfortable next to your cheeks and does the job of not allowing your teeth to grind against each other. It lasts about 6 months, the two I used previously both developed a crack in the plastic strip. The down side to these is that they don't last forever (like a basketball guard) and they are costly. The plus side is that they are very comfortable, allowing you to fall asleep easily, without feeling like your mouth is full of plastic.All 4 kinds that I tried do move around a bit. A few times I even found them (all of them at one time or another) fell totally out of my mouth when I was asleep. However, if they do move a bit, all of them are big enough so that you still cannot clinch or grind your teeth together.
Question:	Does anyone use an all natural cleaner ( without chemicals ) with this product that works effectively
Answer:	Yes, I use an unscented soap like Dr. Bronners Mild Baby (liquid) to wash every morning. Then leave in open case to dry. Works perfectly!
