| Answer: | Honestly, for THE BEST ADVICE, on this particular one, I'd run it by a qualified Colorist at a quality salon... OR... Usually, the norm, it's "around two week MINIMUM." For the safety of your hair and you can still have beautiful color, go with a semi-permanent or better yet, NON-PERMANENT Hair Color. This is your BEST option. You'll have a wonderful selection of shades; (but understand that you have "permed" your hair, so "that alone" will have lightened your color, no matter WHAT SHADE you started with; either your natural hair or a previous colored. ANY colorings, whether permanent or non permanent, will most likely effect your outcome. However, it doesn't have to be a negative. And this is why using NON-PERMANENT color (in a shade NOT too much lighter or darker then what you have as 1) your hair is already quite porous from being permed and perhaps previous colorings 2) Giving your hair a chance to not absorb more ammonia from "permanent colors," will not only help and keep your hair healthier, but help the color last longer. Even if it is non-permanent. 3) It helps to deep condition prior to color. Do this about a week before your color, THEN wash hair lightly (once) and lightly condition if needed. You're ready the following day or two for your color. Always keep your hair well conditioned when getting a perm. While it may be a nice look and possibly speed up our beauty hair routine, it still requires maintenance. If not maintained, permed hair can become extremely brittle and sun damaged.
