Question:	is this good for lining and shading? Also do you need a foot pedal with this
Answer:	Turn everything on so its running and try pressing the voltage adjustment knob on the power supply until u feel it click. This power supply has an always on feature. Should go off when clicking the pedal not jolt it but it's worth a shot.. if that doesn't work the microswitch inside the pedal is probably stuck. Make sure the pedals top button isn't wedged so that it can't fully retract after stepping on it.. or.... Tapping on it..

Shader machines are characterized by a longer front spring for a softer stroke. Wider gap between front spring and contact screw. How to recognize liner machine? A liner machine is characterized by shorter front spring for a shorter stroke. Smaller gap between front spring and contact screw. Generally runs faster than a shader to create fine and precise line work.
