Answer:	I wish I could help you. The toaster proved so unsatisfactory that I threw it away. The tray would not stay latched, the toasting lever would not stay down, the settings were unreliable -- burnt toast, toasted on one half of a slice but not on the other half -- and quality of the toaster itself was very flimsy. After about 10 days, I resurrected the old Toastermaster that I hadn't thrown away yet, and we are still using it.
