Answer:	Yes, it does work on African American hair. This is the first time I've used it for my dry, damaged, over-processed hair. Answer:	I did the same thing. I decided to have a beautician color my gray hair. She chose medium brown – the color that my hair was at age 35. It was way too harsh for my skin tone now. I let it fade out and allowed about 1/4 of an inch of gray roots to begin to show. I use Clairol natural instincts semi permanent dark blonde. I’ve used it twice now and I am very very happy with the color. I also like semi permanent because I am comfortable recoloring my hair to refresh it after just three weeks instead of four if there is an important event coming up.
