Simply place 2 or 3 small drops of oil between the blades every few haircuts to maintain optimal blade lubrication; lubricated blades also can reduce friction and heat caused by unlubricated blades.

Step 1

First, wipe any excess hairs off your clipper blades, the cleaner the blades the better the oil will work.

Step 2

Next, apply one small dot of lubricant to the 5 points shown on the clipper blade.

Step 3

Now, move the taper lever back and forth multiple times to spread the hair clipper oil around on the blade.

Step 4

Your clipper blades should now be properly lubricated and should help prolong the life and blades of your clipper.

Answer:	Yes, the metal blade guard is the same as other Wahl clippers, so the plastic clips will fit.

Answer:	You can, but I tried it today and found it a bit big and unwieldy--especially for getting at the mustache. Wahl makes something called a "Peanut," specifically for beard trimming. It has all the guard attachments and performance of a Wahl clipper, but it's about 1/4 the size (maybe 2" long and not quite 1" wide), so very good for precision use.

Answer:	About a 1/4in. There's a good selection of guards. I don't use one at all? I use to have a lot of hair but as time marches on! This is my 2nd Wahl, dropped the other one to many times and after 32 years its done its share of hair cuts. Keep it clean and oiled, it will last for years.

Answer:	I keep a beard, and use this for a little neck-scrape more often than I use a razor. It's certainly not going to give you a close shave like a razor would, but it'll clean you up pretty good without pulling your hair. I've found that corded clippers like this are more consistent and powerful than their cordless counterparts, which means you have less "pull".
