Answer:	If you're looking for brown/blonde highlights on black hair, this works great for it. I have black hair and I do a full head effect. I leave it on for 55 mins and it comes out beautiful. The longer you leave it on, the blonder it gets. I love it! I've been using it for MANY years.

Answer:	This was my color of choice, prior to changing to # 70, I am a blonde so to say it would work on dark color hair I really can't say sorry.

Question:	I just used this 2 days ago and it is fantastic; I was a little shy with the highlighting; can I go repeat the highlighting process again
Answer:	Not with the open/left over chemicals and not on the same hair you highlighted. If you decide to do it, I would get a new kit and highlight hair that wasn't previously bleached with the highlighting part of the kit so it isnt damaged further. I loved this kit as well and just highlighted more each time I dyed every 6 weeks or so. I have taken a break after about 6 months of using the kit bc some of my hair that I always highlighted, like by my face, started to break. Just be careful with over processing.
Question:	is this product tested on animals
Answer:	L'Oreal DOES test on animals. They carefully word their policy to read something like, "...L'Oreal does not test on animals". However, they have other agencies test their products out on animals for them. Shame on them. I will not buy anything L'Oreal for this reason.

Answer:	Yes. U don't want to bleach hair except where u pull it out of the holes. The second solid layer protects what u don't want hilited. Start off hi lighting less than u think until u see the results. U can always do again in a month. I've been using this on my fragile natural blonde hair for decades. Good luck. The more u do it the better u get. L'Oreal stopped testing this on animals, too.

Answer:	Not sure, but with some scrubbing to remove the built up oxidation this stuff worked real nice.

Answer:	This product, Mothers Back-to-Black Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner #06141 is a cleaner and comes with a brush. It deep cleans and removes oxidation, and is excellent for all types of trim, especially the tough type of plastics used running boards and steps because it leaves them looking like new but not slippery.Mothers Back-to-Black Trim & Plastic Restorer #06112 is a restorer, and while it lightly cleans, it does not clean like a dedicated cleaner can. I suggest it not be used on running boards and steps as it can leave it slippery when wet.

Answer:	I do not know because I do not like 'golden'
Question:	which holes in the cap do i use to get chunks all over
Answer:	I make my own holes by poking the needle through and pulling the hair through somewhat evenly spaced but not as much as using all the guide holes. You can use the provided guide holes and pull more hair for chunks and less for thinner strands. One more thing, if you accidentally pull too much hair through, reach under the cap with the back end of the needle and pull it back in.
Question:	How many packages of Lightening powder should be in a package? Mine came with two. Is this normal
Answer:	Yes. 2 Packages of the Lightening powder is standard.
Question:	What do you do with the Hair that hangs out at bottom
Answer:	Push it under the cap to keep it away from the hair that is being processed. The cap should be on tight so there really shouldn't be any hanging out.

Flash Lightning Hair Bleach Kit

Manic Panic Lightning Hair Bleach Kit with 30 Volume Cream Developer lifts hair up to 5 levels and helps prepare your hair for the most intense Manic Panic colors. Each hair bleaching kit includes one dust-free bleach powder, one 30 volume cream developer, one mixing tub, one tint brush, one plastic cap, one set of plastic gloves and instructions for use.

Strand Test:

1. Open the bleach powder bag and mix one part powder to three parts developer. Mix well using the tint brush provided in the kit.
2. Your hair should be clean and dry. Comb to remove any tangles. Pull one strand of hair from behind your ear to perform the strand test.
3. Apply the mixture to the hair test strand avoiding direct contact with the scalp, making sure the test strand does not touch the rest of your hair.
4. Check hair at regular intervals during the development process as timing varies according to the degree of desired lightening.
5. Check strand every 10 minutes to evaluate lift. To do so, remove plastic cap and wipe away mixture with a damp tissue.
6. If hair has not reached desired level, reapply mixture as before and continue processing. Do not over-bleach.
7. When desired shade is reached, shampoo hair thoroughly several times. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry hair.
8. Discard any leftover mixture. Thoroughly rinse and dry the mixing bowl prior to actual application.

Preparations:

1. Wearing the enclosed gloves, open the bleach plastic bag. Avoid inhaling powder.
2. Empty the full contents of the bleach powder into the plastic tub provided.
3. Add the full contents of the developer to the bleach powder in the plastic tub. Using the provided brush, blend until all the powder is completely dissolved with no lumps. Mix and blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Let stand one minute. The mixture will thicken.
4. Apply the mixture to the hair avoiding direct contact with the scalp. * It is important to use all the developer and mix using only the brush provided. Do not use any metal instruments.

Application:

• Hair should be dry and unwashed.
• Using the provided brush, apply the bleach mixture evenly to hair you wish bleached.
• All strands should be saturated using the brush or gloved fingers to spread the mixture evenly.
• You may mask hair you don’t wish to bleach by using a highlight cap or foil.

Removal:

• When desired shade is reached, take off the cap and throw away.
• Shampoo hair thoroughly several times.
• Rinse thoroughly and towel dry hair.

FAQ's:

DO I HAVE TO PRE-LIGHTEN MY HAIR BEFORE COLORING?

Applying Manic Panic hair color to pre-lightened hair is the best way to assure that you will achieve the vibrant results that you see on our color swatches. Lightening with our Flash Lightning Kits to a pale blonde (level 9-10) will give the most intense results.

DO I NEED TO PRE-LIGHTEN MY HAIR EVERY TIME BEFORE I COLOR MY HAIR?

Yes, but ONLY the new growth! Be careful not to overlap on hair that has already been lightened, this can cause breakage and damage the hair.

CAN I USE MANIC PANIC FLASH LIGHTENING KIT TO BLEACH MY PERMANENT COLORED BLACK HAIR?

It is very dangerous to apply Manic Panic Flash lightening kit to hair colored with a permanent black color. Do not attempt to do this without the advice and direction of a professional stylist who can evaluate the condition of your hair. Lightening dyed black hair can be extremely damaging and result in major breakage!

If your hair is dyed black, some darker MANIC PANIC dyes will give a subtle highlight (like Vampire Red for example) and will not damage the hair. On NATURAL black hair, MANIC PANIC Flash lightning Bleach Kit in 40 volume strength is recommended.

DO I NEED TO USE THE FULL CONTENTS OF THE BLEACH KIT?

YES. Our bleach kits are prepared with the perfect ratio of bleach powder and developer to give you consistent results every time.

HOW IS BLEACH APPLIED?

The bleach mixture should be applied to dry, unwashed hair using a hair dye brush like the one provided in our bleach kits. When applying bleach, make sure to spread the mixture evenly and completely saturate all strands using the brush or gloved fingers. Not saturating the hair enough or uneven application can lead to spotty results.

HOW LONG DOES BLEACH STAY ON FOR?

The length of processing time depends on the color and condition of your hair, but we don’t recommend leaving bleach on for longer than 50 minutes. While processing, make sure to check your hair every 10 minutes after application to evaluate how much color has lifted. To do so, wipe away some of the bleach in the area you want to check. If your hair is not as light as you’d like, reapply the bleach and continue processing.

DO I SHAMPOO MY HAIR WHEN REMOVING THE BLEACH?

YES. Thoroughly shampoo your hair after you are done processing your hair. This may take multiple washings to ensure the bleach is completely removed. If you’re dyeing your hair with MANIC PANIC after bleaching, do not condition, and dry your hair completely before applying color.

Answer:	It is similar however I would recommend the Clairol Hairpainting kit or the Clairol Frost and Tip kit over this one. The Balayage kit barely gives you any product and the powder bleach in that particular kit is really clumpy and hard to mix.

Answer:	On the back of the lightening powder packets it says to use entire contents of both packets. I know the instruction sheet doesn't say that so it is somewhat confusing but I just wanted to let you all know what I noticed.

Answer:	I never use the cap; I toss it out. It’s easy to apply the product with your gloved fingers. It’s almost foil proof. Brush hair thoroughly before starting. Do a strand test, so u know how long to leave this product in your hair. Apply to one entire strand at a time. Start from the back of the head towards the front. Pull your hair up with a clip & put the clear plastic bag over it to retain heat & speed up processing. Rinse out in the recommended time or according to your test strand from earlier. Rinse out in the shower. Apply shampoo packet. Rinse again. Towel dry. Apply toner & leave in.
