| Answer: | Although I haven't yet used this particular purchase, I've used Natural Instincts hair color many times before. The person who answered first is correct in that it isn't all that strong. But it has worked for me if I put it on the root part first, let it sit there for almost the whole time that the instructions say, and then add it to the rest of my hair and wait for the whole time the instructions say for covering gray hair. My whole crown and the sides of my head are totally an icky gray. I use products like this to increase the time between visiting salons. The other person was also right in that the lighter the color of the dye is, the faster the gray will start showing through again. The last time I did my roots only (not with this product), I went a shade or two lighter, and although the color wasn't gray anymore, I'm sure it won't last long. I should have gone a shade darker. Again, I only used the coloring agent on the gray parts, which were 1/4-1/2 inch of growth on my crown and sides. So if you are really gray, if I were you, I'd get a darker shade, as gray is resistant to dyes so much more than ungray hair is. I hope this makes sense. |
