It is definitely worth using to keep them from drying out and cracking, especially around your ankles if it was for boots.

Answer:	Since this mink oil product normal state is quite firm at room temperature, I like to soften it up before use. I heat about 1 inch of water in a pan (about 100 degrees F) and then place the mink oil container in the water for around 5 minutes. Then I can use a soft rag to wipe the oil onto the leather to be treated. I finish that off by using another clean rag to rub and buff the leather.

Answer:	Mink oil is an excellent choice for leather, however it may tend to darken it slightly. It would be good to test some out on an inconspicuous spot if you can before you order.

Answer:	Will not dry out will hydrate with oils, protect with silicon. It will darken the tanning but, if they are work boots or a pair you plan on having for a long time. Best product for work tough, leather and even been used on my car dash and steering wheel. Heals repairs and protects. Using for the first time take a small cotton cloth apply heavy, and re apply as need with two hour dry time in between. Hope this helps, att. Answer:	Yes - I did and it certainly DIDN'T take all day. It is small but that makes it easy to handle. I was able to do a very good job of cleaning in preparation for application of a protectant. No bristles fell out and it did not damage the material. If you are unfortunate enough to have a vinyl top you can use almost any ole brush.

Answer:	What! And settle for smaller profits? I'm fortunate as I'm told I never throw anything away. This means I have the original man sized brushes. They measure 6-3/4" x2-3/16" with a full1-1/8" horse hair length. They look great and work great. I can't imagine using anything less.

However, the brush itself could be used. Just be careful not to knock anything with the wood handle.

I mounted mine on a piece of 2"x4" (lengthwise, about 16" long) and buried it right by the concrete on the driveway close the house. I painted the entire thing with clear lacquer (spray paint) so the weather wouldn't deteriorate it. It works great!

Answer:	I don’t know about waterproof but it certainly is smudge proof. I polished older Keen shoes (they look great by the way) and wear them to do yard work and grocery shopping etc. I tell you this because I live in the country and working in the yard, there is often times a lot of moisture.
