Answer:	Yes they can, very easily! We never even connected the two under the mattress like it recommends. The weight of the bed typically holds it in place very well. Upon removal, the legs even collapse and I simply slid the entire mechanism in between the mattresses for storage. They have been a fantastic security measure for our boy. Because he is wild!

Question:	Has anyone used this on a convertible crib? Our 13 mo old co-sleeps with us and want her in her own bed but she's a wild sleeper
Answer:	The rail is 43-inches long. When the crib is converted to a toddler or day bed it would probably work. But, it would depend on how the convertable crib was designed as some have built in guard rail.
Question:	Does the rail swing down to be flat against the base of the bed? The photo makes it appear as though it swings down, but may rest at an angle. Thanks
Answer:	The first response is correct, if the boxspring and frame are high enough off the ground the rail will swing down and lay flat. Just installed my sons this week and the bed and frame are super high so it lays flat w/ no issues. For reference the TOP of my box spring is 21in off the floor, this leaves a 2in gap between the floor and the rail when it is in the down position.
Question:	Will this work on a mattress which i placed directly on the floor without box spring
Answer:	No. The rail is held in place by a strap that goes under the mattress. at the end is a piece of plastic that forms a T with the strap. In other words, part of the plastic sticks up, and part sticks down. this keeps the rail from slipping. If you put the mattress on the floor, the "T" wouldn't be in a proper position and wouldn't hold it. I think you're going to need a box spring for it to work properly.
Question:	I have a bunk bed that has at least a dozen wooden slats but no boxspring or plywood piece. Would it work for me
Answer:	This bedrail will only work "properly" for a bed with mattress and a boxspring. It will also work for any other bed like wooden beds but you wont be able to pull it down to the side of the bed. Just keep it upright all the time. The thing is the main frame of the bed on the side will prevent you from folding the bedrail down. If the wooden bed has slats, just tie the two supporting part of the bedframe to two corresponding slats, You may use a packaging tape to tape it in place.

Answer:	As long as you are buying the same type of date for your long and short sections then you can put as many pieces together as you want. We have multiple setups like this in our house. We have one that uses 2 larger pieces, a gate piece and 2 of these small 9 inch extenders, another that uses 4 large pieces and a gate piece and one that uses 2 large pieces and a gate piece. This is a great gate and works perfectly in weird and large areas.

Answer:	I have this attached to the gate to close off the stairs, and another expansion piece attached to the standard fence piece to close off a fireplace. Both the fence and gate are 29.5" high where you attach them together. The gate is 31" wide. I have the 9" fence turned at a angle to make enclosures. So YES this piece is the correct height for the gate

Answer:	this is an extension for the main gate. Part of the main pieces of the gate come off and get attached to this piece. The main gate portion that removes from the main gate and attached to this piece is the piece that goes into attaches to the wall. The bottom bracket that attaches to the wall slides up and down to accomodate base moulding. So the answer is yes and no. Yes because floor moulding isn’t a problem and no because you do not need to buy anything extra, it comes with the main gate (this question appears on an extension piece so be aware that buying the extension alone gets you nothing, it must be bought with the main piece sold separately)

Answer:	It latches to the panneling around the window and the screen is pretty thick. I think it would take ALOT of force.

Answer:	We have a cat that claws at our couch and regular window screens. I haven't seen our cat claw this, so it's possible this isn't fun for cats to claw into or that the window isn't at the right height for him to get at (our window is pretty low). Also a note, you can put the guard close to the window or farther out on the window sill. Ours is about halfway and I don't think there's enough room for the cat to perch on the window sill. Now plain spitballing: Can a cat's claws go into the mesh? Probably. Can he tear it? I think it's pretty tough and would resist it quite well... but if he kept at it for a year he'd probably get through.

Question:	Would anyone recommend getting this instead of a pack-and-play? I'm trying to decide if I need both or if I could use this product regularly indoors
Answer:	We have both. The Pea Pod is great for sleeping while traveling, but for every day around the house, a small child is NOT going to be happy in the pea pod. We have a one year old and the pack in play is great for when i need to contain him in another room for a short while. We used the pea pod while on vacation in Hawaii. It fit into my carry on luggage and is easy to put up and then fold up... but i definitely recommend a pack n play for home.

Answer:	I wouldn't. It's not structured enough to resist a child leaning against it. I haven't tested that but I think if a child is old enough to kneel up and push on the sides they could roll the tent. Especially on a soft surface like a bed.

Answer:	In my honest opinion, just because some do it under 1 and “it’s just fine” does not mean you should. The manufacturer puts a recommendation on age for a reason.
