1. Take out the top of the white dome and one of the black lamp films.
2. Power it on by 4*AAA batteries or USB cable (Battery & Plug are not included).
3. Press the color light button, then the projection will show on the wall and ceiling.

Attention:

• The remote control can control a distance of about 5 meters.
• The remote control needs to be equipped with a battery, model: CR2025 3V (not included).

Answer:	My 10 month old has learned to call out in a certain pitch to make his go off. I think it's a certain tone that activates it more than the loudness.

Question:	Where can I find the child safety certificate for this
Answer:	I have had the exact same problem. Just returned the 2nd one the Mobil didn't rotate at all the the first one only worked for a few days and quit working even after new batteries were installed. It's to bad it didn't work my baby really liked it.
Question:	does the light protector work after you remove the mobile arm
Answer:	No. The voice activation cannot be turned off. There is just an option for how long it will stay on after it gets activated. You can however turn off the whole thing when not in use. My family has run out the batteries by activating the hippo with our coughing when the hippo is left on.
Question:	The box says that this responds to baby crying. I took that as it would turn on and run when it heard the crying but so far it doesn't seem to react
Answer:	They don't actually flash, but they do fade in and out and they are multi-colored. This is a wonderful toy, it plays music or does nature sounds and tells some nursery rhymes and the stars are very appealing as well. I highly recommend it.
Question:	I have installed new batteries but cannot get the mobile to project the stars from the top nor will the rotating arm actually rotate. Any insight
Answer:	No it does not, but it does play icean waves which on my opinion sounds close to white noise. We have a Summer Infant lamb that plays white noise.

Answer:	I'm not sure, possibly the VTech official website? I've owned 6 of the these, and they're amazing! We used them with all 4 of our kids, and never had a single safety issue with them. They do go through batteries pretty quickly, but they're worth it.

Answer:	No, if you're talking about the stars that project on the ceiling, it does not. It's part of the arm.

Answer:	Yes it does but you have to keep it on for the sound sensor to work. Basically I let it play for 20 minutes, then it automatically turns of but if the baby cries, the music will start again. Remember leave the switch in the ON position

Question:	Can you have the light on without any sounds like a real flash light
Answer:	The older model has more songs but no setting to just use it as a flashlight. However, the light on that one is brighter. The light on this is too dim to use as a flashlight. On the old one, the light flashes on and off to the music ALL the time. There is no steady light setting. Basically, if you're looking to entertain a 1 year old, this is an okay baby toy with lots of lights and music in the shape of a flashlight. If you're looking for a toy that is also a flashlight for a 2 or 3 year old toddler, this may not be that great of an option.

to 5 level volume control

The speaker volume on the parent unit is easily controlled by pressing the up or down arrow keys. When the parent unit is in mute, the visual sound indicator will still indicate the sound detected from the baby unit.

Notes on the Safety Reminder: This monitor's parent unit has preset to play an audio safety reminder when it is connected to a baby unit. You may turn it off after the initial set up of the monitor by press and hold the Vol Down key for 8 seconds.

Silent alerts

Lights on steadily in green when the parent unit is on and linked to the baby unit.

Flashes in green when there is no link between the baby unit and parent unit, or when the parent unit is out of range from the baby unit.

Keep you in the know

The parent unit emits different alert tones for situations needed your attention.

Low battery tone: Beeps twice every 10 minutes when the battery is low.

Out of range tone: Beeps three times every 30 seconds when there is no link between the baby unit and parent unit, or when the parent unit is out of range from the baby unit.

Monitoring with flexibility

This monitor parent unit and baby unit are both powered by AC power. The parent unit has a second option by 2 AAA battery so that it can be used remotely. For longer monitoring duration such as baby's nap time or over night, keep the parent unit connected to the power socket. For a quick patrol over to the nursery, the parent unit can be supported by the battery power. Note: 2 AAA battery are optional and needed to be purchased separately.
