Answer:	The width across my normal toilet seat is just under 9 inches, and the width across the little cushion seat is about 5 and 3/4 inches. It seems very small for an adult, even a small adult, but possibly would work. Also, I think it seems very durable, and would hold at least 135 pounds. I know this because my little toddler wanted me to sit on hers recently, so I did (in clothing!) and it didn't show any signs of being too much for the seat.
