3. Peel off the adhesive film

4. Stick the striker plate to the frame

5. Stick the lock to the door or drawer (Test it for screws and nails before you stick the lock if it's effected by a nail or a screw inside the door)

6. Close the cabinet door or drawer and check for proper fit. Can be repositioned immediately

7. IMPORTANT: There must be 1/8 to 1/4 inches of space between the lock and striker plate when locked. If the door fits tightly, it can not unlock

8. Once aligned PRESS FIRMLY for 5-10 seconds on to the locks and latches for better bonding

9. MOST IMPORTANT: DO NOT TEST it right away; leave it unlocked and allow 24 hours for adhesive to dry before usage for maximum strength

Since the locks also contain a magnet, they can be affected by any nails or staples that may be present inside the cabinet doors. Before attaching the lock, you can move it around the inside of the door, leaving the lock in the locked position. If the attaching hook moves or drops into the lock body, it has detected a ferrous metal inside the cabinet door. Simply move the lock away until the locking hook is no longer affected.

LOCK WON'T UNLOCK

When attaching the flat striker plate to the cabinet or dresser frame, please leave enough space so that the door or drawer can open just slightly (1/8 –1/4 inch) when locked. This space allows the lock to clear the striker when being opened using the magnetic key. If the lock is in contact with the striker plate, it will just mesh even more tightly; as it is designed to do.

Some cabinets have a fingerprint-resistant surface that makes the tape harder to adhere to. Answer:	I bough my set of 8 from an orange big box store. They had extra keys for sale. One commenter here stated he/she glued a rare earth magnet ( probably neodymium) to a bracelet and used that. This metal/magnet is widely available on line. Ounce for ounce, they are MUCH stronger than an ordinary magnet. But be aware of the magnets' polarity. Mine are circular, presumably one side is the north magnetic end, the other side, the south magnetic end. Since the magnet inside the latch is fixed in position, one side of your bracelet will work; the other won't. Test it before you glue.
Question:	I cant imagine having to get the key out to unlock the drawers in the kitchen every time I need something. Is it really more convenient than the latch

Question:	What is the distance between screw mounting holes (center to center) on the lock unit? I want to see if these will fit previously drilled holes

Question:	Do these work with DreamBaby locks
Answer:	They are strong magnets that will work to unlock most magnet locks including the DreamBaby Locks.
Question:	How do you remove them
Answer:	These magnetic keys are not attached to the cabinet. To use the key, you hold the magnet on the opposite side of the door/cabinets/drawer where the lock is located. If you are referring to the actual lock removal, there are different methods for attachment. Most of these type of locks use double sided foam tape from 3m with the option to use small screws. To remove the locks, pull the tape off or unscrew the screws.
Question:	How do you open the casing to flip the magnet
Answer:	Our new style keys do not come open easily for safety reasons. You can try just touching the domed top part of the key against the lock to use on different polarity locks , or you can try dropping the key onto a hard floor, and it may pop open from that type of force. Answer:	There is not a permanent mount to the outside of the cabinet. The lock system has one magnetic lock, a latch (both screw into the inside of the cabinet with short screws) and a magnetic key. The key releases the lock when it is placed over the lock from the outside of the cabinet. Does that help?
Question:	Does this lock work as a regular lock, or is it only for children
Answer:	It works as a regular lock meaning that it will not open unless you use the magnetic key. Keep in mind though that it is plastic so it will probably budge if an adult pulls hard enough.

Question:	Is there a way to disengage the locks when not in use
Answer:	yes. There is a 'switch' under the latch. If it is down the locks will engage, but if you lift the switch, it will keep the latch down and prevent it from engaging. You will actually see the latch depress and not rise again after the switch is raised.
Question:	locks work fine before installation,but once installed on door it does not work.why not
Answer:	This can happen if you install the lock too close to metal (like a metal knob/handle, screws, or metal buried inside the wood). In fact, I ran into this problem during my install. I recommend using the magnet key to check for any metal bits in drawer faces and doors prior to installation. If the lock is installed too close to metal that's on the surface, or buried inside of a drawer face or door, the locking mechanism won't engage because the magnet inside the lock will be attracted to the metal, preventing the lever from popping up and snagging the catch. I ran into this problem even though I installed the lock away from the metal handle and screws. After removing the metal handle and screws from the drawer face, I still experienced the issue. However, if I removed the lock from the drawer face it worked fine (the lever would pop up when the magnet key wasn't applied). I finally determined that there were small bits of metal buried inside the drawer face (probably small woodworking nails/staples), and confirmed it by using the magnet key to move along the wood, feeling it being pulled in various places. I simply moved the lock to a different location away from where I felt the pull on the magnet, and that solved the problem.
