4. Stick the striker plate to the frame

5. Stick the lock to the door or drawer (Test it for screws and nails before you stick the lock if it's affected by a nail or a screw inside the door)

6. Close the cabinet door or drawer and check for proper fit. Can be repositioned immediately

7. IMPORTANT: There must be 1/8 to 1/4 inches of space between the lock and striker plate when locked. If the door fits tightly, it can not unlock

Before attaching the lock, you can move it around the inside of the door, leaving the lock in the locked position. If the attaching hook moves or drops into the lock body, it has detected a ferrous metal inside the cabinet door. Simply move the lock away until the locking hook is no longer affected.

When attaching the flat striker plate to the cabinet or dresser frame, please leave enough space so that the door or drawer can open just slightly (1/8 –1/4 inch) when locked. This space allows the lock to clear the striker when being opened using the magnetic key. Since the locks also contain a magnet, they can be affected by any nails or staples that may be present inside the cabinet doors. Before attaching the lock, you can move it around the inside of the door, leaving the lock in the locked position. If the attaching hook moves or drops into the lock body, it has detected a ferrous metal inside the cabinet door. Simply move the lock away until the locking hook is no longer affected.

LOCK WON'T UNLOCK

When attaching the flat striker plate to the cabinet or dresser frame, please leave enough space so that the door or drawer can open just slightly (1/8 –1/4 inch) when locked. This space allows the lock to clear the striker when being opened using the magnetic key. If the lock is in contact with the striker plate, it will just mesh even more tightly; as it is designed to do.

Some cabinets have a fingerprint-resistant surface that makes the tape harder to adhere to. A handy little clamp that you may use to hold the locks firmly to the cabinet doors while the 3M tape is curing. This procedure isn’t normally required, but helps to cabinet locks stay secured. Question:	Is there a way to disengage the locks when not in use
Answer:	yes. There is a 'switch' under the latch. If it is down the locks will engage, but if you lift the switch, it will keep the latch down and prevent it from engaging. You will actually see the latch depress and not rise again after the switch is raised.
Question:	locks work fine before installation,but once installed on door it does not work.why not
Answer:	This can happen if you install the lock too close to metal (like a metal knob/handle, screws, or metal buried inside the wood). In fact, I ran into this problem during my install. I recommend using the magnet key to check for any metal bits in drawer faces and doors prior to installation. If the lock is installed too close to metal that's on the surface, or buried inside of a drawer face or door, the locking mechanism won't engage because the magnet inside the lock will be attracted to the metal, preventing the lever from popping up and snagging the catch. I ran into this problem even though I installed the lock away from the metal handle and screws. After removing the metal handle and screws from the drawer face, I still experienced the issue. However, if I removed the lock from the drawer face it worked fine (the lever would pop up when the magnet key wasn't applied). I finally determined that there were small bits of metal buried inside the drawer face (probably small woodworking nails/staples), and confirmed it by using the magnet key to move along the wood, feeling it being pulled in various places. I simply moved the lock to a different location away from where I felt the pull on the magnet, and that solved the problem.

How to Install

1. Place the Latches and Locks on the installation adapter.

2. Place it on cabinet frame.

3. Close the cabinets’ or drawers’ door and then the locks will automatically stick on the door.

4. Take away the installation adapter.

Question:	Is it just me, or does the installation cradle not put the pieces close enough to latch? Also, the “off” mode doesn’t work
Answer:	Mine worked perfectly (installed on ikea ivar cabinets)
Question:	Has anyone tried to remove one? Any wall damage
Answer:	they have come off the cabinets and drawers wo any damage. We damaged some paint off the wall. It could have been that it’s old paint but not sure.
Question:	What are the dimensions of the lock
Answer:	There are 2 pieces. The hook part is about 2"×1". The 2nd part the magnetic part is 2"×1 1/2". Hope that helps.
Question:	Are there more keys I can buy? The magnets in the ones from my other system aren't strong enough to release the latch and I have them in multiple room

Question:	Do these work with DreamBaby locks
Answer:	They are strong magnets that will work to unlock most magnet locks including the DreamBaby Locks.
Question:	How do you remove them
Answer:	These magnetic keys are not attached to the cabinet. To use the key, you hold the magnet on the opposite side of the door/cabinets/drawer where the lock is located. If you are referring to the actual lock removal, there are different methods for attachment. Most of these type of locks use double sided foam tape from 3m with the option to use small screws. To remove the locks, pull the tape off or unscrew the screws.
Question:	How do you open the casing to flip the magnet
Answer:	Our new style keys do not come open easily for safety reasons. You can try just touching the domed top part of the key against the lock to use on different polarity locks , or you can try dropping the key onto a hard floor, and it may pop open from that type of force. Question:	How do you reverse the polarity of the magnet in the keys? All of them don’t work with our locks that are installed. Can’t find contact info
Answer:	Dear Priya, If the magnets do not unlock your different brand magnetic locks: Magnets have a (+) positive and a (-) negative side, so the magnet may simply need to be flipped over. Please open the casing and turn over the magnet. Answer:	I think it would. As long as the door is similar to a regular cabinet door it should work. We are loving ours!
Question:	Are these enough to deter a snoopy adult guest? i realize they wouldn't stop a burglar, but i have a guest coming whom i know is a snoop
Answer:	You have to have the magnetic key to open it. Now if they know it's magnetic and had a strong enough magnet they could open it, but it could stop someone from snooping. If they pulled so hard that it tore the lock off, you would certainly know, and they would have to find a way to explain it. However my 17 month old grandaughter puts all her weight into trying to open the drawers and cabinets and they haven't gave way yet nearly 5 months in. I love these!
