Answer:	There is a trick to open the latch side. You can use a butter knife to gently pry between the strap and the cover on top it. You may need to try sliding the cover while prying. If you rack the handle quickly, it will make clicking ratcheting sounds but still isn't louder than an other lockset. Nothing but heavy dousing with grease like lithium will quiet the sound of the latch being pulled from the strike and retracted into it's housing no matter which lockset you buy.

Answer:	I have it on mine and so far it has not

Answer:	I am sure it adheres to plastic. I tried it on the cabinet surface which was kind of plastic result was perfect. It stuck on it.
Question:	How do we let adhesive cure
Answer:	Before install these locks you can use the hair drier make the adhesive warm(This will help the 3m adhesive more effective),then peel off the 3m release film and stick these locks to the position you wanted.
Question:	How strong the adhesive?Is it can be stick to any furniture surface
Answer:	These 3M adhesive are very Stronger. But the effectiveness of adhesive greatly depends on the surface of your cabinets. Please make sure the attachment surfaces are clean and free of any oils or furniture wax. The adhesive 3M tape won't adhere well to all surfaces, especially slippery formica or old/rough layers of paint . For these situations, a thin layer of 3M Primer may be required. If your cabinets does not work well with 3M adhesive, then you should choice baby proofing cabinet locks with Screws.
