Answer:	Yes, it does. I use a pack and play size fitted mattress pad and sheet in my bassinet. We use this system full time. Changing sheets in the middle of the night is easier than scrubbing IMO.

Answer:	The changing mat (with pockets for diaper supplies) is separate, but the diaper changing section is connected to the bassinet, if that makes sense. As our baby got older we hoped to keep him in this pack n play in our room but wished to keep the changing area, so I just separated them with a knife which worked. Of course, this may be a liability.
