The main safety flaw with the "Tots in Mind" crib canopy was that it wasn't a full tent, rather a crib cover which was placed on top of the crib rails and tied down to them. This posed a danger of the entire canopy collapsing downward, as well as leaving space between the canopy and crib for a child to jam extremities in. This new design however, is a full tent design in which the frame goes down all the way to the bottom of the mattress which leaves no potential open spaces.
