Answer:	They are printer within the material, I think. Its been a while since I bought this as a gift. They may be silk screened on there, but the ad should say. They were very cute.

Answer:	I already gave it away, so i don't know; but i ordered the 6-9 mo the size and thought it was pretty typical. Maybe a bit on the short size. If you're unsure, I'd go up 1 size. They grow so fast, and usually when my kids outgrew a onesie, it was the length, not the fit.
