Answer:	There are washing instructions on the blanket. The electronics are waterproof, but you can't change the battery. Once it's dead, it's just a regular ol non-music-playin blanket.

Answer:	Yes they are a bit different in texture. The chenille is a looser weave and not quite as plush as the luxe blanket.
