Answer:	I’m not sure of the exact distance between the rails, but my 20 pound German Shepherd puppy had his head get stuck between the wall and the first rail. I made a extra rail out of a piece of wood to make sure it did not happen again. I’m thinking that gap will depend on how far you need to extend the braces.

Answer:	This gate is auto close and I have two and I love them. Then open either way and self close in either direction. Also if opened just past 90 degrees, they will stay open till given a gentil push then they self close. The product is very well engineered, well built and nicely finished. As a mechanical engineer I can see no wat to improve this product. I would recommend this gate all.

This pillow is also big enough to put your hand or arm on top or underneath if that is something you do,although doing that will somewhat change the pressure in the pillow, which is typical of all inflatable pillows! Answer:	(If it's the one with the side walls around it) It's probably not ideal being that it really is made for an open sided bed without edges around the mattress. The strap that goes underneath the mattress has a "T" hook on the side that sits between the top mattress and box spring on the bottom which holds the rail tight to the side. Depending on the width between the side wall and mattress the gate may or may not fit in between. The edge around may be enough to keep it from falling off without the strap, but without trying it on the bed I would not know. I do know that if you do manage to get it to fit on that type of bed that it is a major pain to change the sheets. Since the mattress needs to be pulled up a bit to change them it lets the "T" strap fall and then trying to slide the mattress in place while trying to hold the strap between the side wall and mattress is a bit of a trick.

Answer:	Although the manufacturer states 37 lb, I have found my 28 lb toddler is already outgrowing hers. She is not particularly chunky in her legs, but due to what I feel is a design flaw, the center strap is very short causing it to be too tight and sit too low on her.

Answer:	We've got some side rails that I didn't want to drill into. So here's what I did. (This only works if you're somewhat handy or have a friend with some tools.)* Cut two boards the height of Gate. (I used 3/4 plywood and cut them around 5" wide.)* Drilled 1/4 inch holes through top and bottom of these boards.* Used threaded steel rod, (1/4 x 20 threads), and cut two pieces, (one for top and one for bottom), to hold the boards together on either side of the railing.* Used knurled knobs from a wood working store with 1/4" threaded centers to screw on one side of the board. (Kind of hard to explain without pics, but basically countersunk bolts on the gate side, with the knobs on the side where the stairwell is.)* Then just installed the gate to this board.* I think they sell kits to be able to do this. But for maybe $5 in parts and some scrap wood you can do it yourself. All you really need is a circular saw, and something to cut the steel rod with. (And file the edges so you can thread the knobs on.)* I've tried to attach a picture to my earlier review with what I did. Assuming it gets approved, if you look for my review or maybe do a search for 'Railing Attachment Board" you'll find the pics.

Answer:	As Jen said, as long as you lock it down it doesn't go anywhere. But if you don't, it can flex a lot. Maybe not enough for a kid to easily crawl under if installed in on a flat pass through area. But if at top of stairs, that could be a problem. (Yes, we failed to lock it once and almost had a problem.) Zero issues when locked though.

Answer:	Yes! We have two angled steps before the rest of our stairs going up, and we were able to install it on that angle. It works perfectly, and is a really good quality gate.
