Question:	Our last order did not have lids on the tubs. Are these no longer available? Are the lids no longer available
Answer:	Good Question; when we spoke to parents about the lid, the vast majority felt that removing it made the pack friendlier to the environment and was not a necessity. Removing the lids is a step towards our 2025 commitment to have 100% of our packaging either reusable or recyclable. If you need some lids, give us a call at 1-800-255-2164 and we’ll see if we can get some mailed out for you.
Question:	Can you freeze the product in ziploc bags? Would it go bad

Answer:	I think most mothers have fed these foods to their babies. The reason I feed it to my cat is because I knew from the experience of feeding my babies this food. It is easily digested and is nutritious.

Answer:	From what I've read it's about a 2 year shelf life unopened and once you've opened the jar it should be refrigerated ASAP (no more than 2 hours) and should be discarded after 24 hours in the fridge

Answer:	I don't think it's good for a 7 month old (assuming he/she started at the typical 6 months for solids). The chia is ground up but you can still feel the grainyness.
Question:	Have these been tested for parasites since they are uncooked
Answer:	Does not say anything about being uncooked. Neither do any of the other brands of baby food (jars and pouches) I have in the pantry.

Question:	Anyone heard that cooked greens start forming nitrates(carcinogenic) in storage? Wondering if there are any such detriments to this sort of product
Answer:	Nitrates are not formed during cooking. Nitrates are absorbed from the soil during growth and so they are a naturally occurring component of vegetables and are part of their metabolism. Infants under 3 months of age are at increased risk for nitrite (not nitrate, but the pH of an infant stomach can facilitate conversion of nitrates to nitrites) toxicity known as methemoglobinemia; but unless you are feeding your Regarding nitrite formation during storage, there are several factors which will inhibit that in commercial foods. First it is likely these are cooked in a moist environment either by steam or by blanching, both of which reduce vegetable nitrate content. Additionally, some of the conversion of nitrates to nitrites is facilitated by enzymes in the plant and bacteria in the environment. Both enzymes and bacteria will be inactivated by the heat necessary to produce a shelf stable package, so conversion from nitrate to nitrite should be minimal during shelf storage.
