14 best organic cereals
Organic cereals refer to breakfast cereals and baby food products made from organic ingredients. These products are produced without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and they adhere to strict organic farming standards. Here are some key points about organic cereals:
Ingredients: Organic cereals are made from organic grains, such as oats, wheat, rice, or barley. These grains are grown without synthetic chemicals or GMOs.
Certification: To be labeled as "organic," cereals must meet specific certification standards set by government or independent organic certification bodies. These standards vary by region but generally involve strict guidelines for farming practices and ingredient sourcing.
Nutritional Benefits: Organic cereals often contain fewer artificial additives, preservatives, and synthetic ingredients compared to conventional cereals. They may also have a higher nutritional value, including more vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Baby Food: Organic cereals are commonly used as a first food for babies who are starting to transition to solid foods. These products are typically fortified with essential nutrients like iron and may come in various flavors to cater to different preferences.
Allergen-Free Options: Many organic cereal brands offer allergen-free options for individuals with dietary restrictions or food allergies. These options are often free from common allergens like gluten, dairy, and nuts.
Variety: Organic cereal options extend beyond traditional breakfast cereals. You can find organic muesli, granola, oatmeal, and other cereal-based products. These products often come in a variety of flavors and textures to suit different tastes.
Environmental Impact: Organic farming practices prioritize sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of agriculture. This includes promoting soil health, reducing water usage, and maintaining biodiversity.
Packaging: Some organic cereal brands also focus on eco-friendly packaging, using materials that are recyclable or biodegradable to minimize their environmental footprint.
Price: Organic cereals can be more expensive than their conventional counterparts due to the cost of organic farming practices and certification. However, the price difference may vary depending on the brand and specific product.
Availability: Organic cereals are widely available in health food stores, organic markets, and many mainstream grocery stores. They can also be purchased online through various retailers.
It's essential to check the label and certification of any product claiming to be organic to ensure it meets your specific requirements and adheres to organic standards. Organic cereals are a popular choice for those looking to incorporate more organic and environmentally friendly options into their diet, especially for infants and young children.

Question: | It seems a whole foods rep would know for sure if the blueberries are grown in canada, as expected |
Answer: | I am not a rep but the package says, product of Canada. |
Question: | Are these wild blueberries from Maine |
Answer: | They are "a product of Canada" as per the bag. (Some to most (?) manufacturers have freezing facilities next to their produce and fruit fields and products are immediately frozen after harvesting for freshness, so likely they were grown in Canada but the bag does not specify.) |

User questions & answers
Question: | On the bulk packs, how far out is the expiration date |
Answer: | If by 'bulk pack' you mean the 32 oz bag (there were six in the order I received), the "Best By" date - not an expiration date - was nine months out from the date I received the cereal. My order arrived in March 2017, the Best By date is January 2018. |
Question: | what is the expiration date ? I can't buy 6 bags of cereal if the date isn't at least a year from now |
Answer: | Thank you for your inquiry. We unfortunately are unable to provide expiration dates as we are a food service distributor that constantly rotates inventory as it is sold. Per Amazon's policy we are able to guarantee at least 60 days, unless it is yogurt or dairy as those normally have a shorter shelf life. If you have any other questions please feel free to write back or call. |
Question: | Is the sea salt used in the product free from micro plastics |
Answer: | I knew I had to worry about mercury in my fish, fluoride in my water, pesticides on my produce, and smog in my air. But I did not know about microplastics in my salt. Thank goodness now I'm aware. I took a handful of this delicious, mildly spicy, mildly sweet cereal, with crisp flakes that stand up well to milk (sourced from local cows who live wherever they want to and are asked permission to be milked and fairly compensated for their time and effort) and meticulously broke it down element by element, to the molecular level, until I got to the subatomic salt particles. All I saw was healthy, mineral-rich sea salt. The tasty turmeric, however, had a shocking amount of negative vibes that I'm now concerned about. Darn. This *was* my favorite cereal.... |
Question: | What are the Nutrition facts on this product? I am not able to see the labels |
Answer: | Most products have at least one website that shows nutrition facts. I Googled the product name along with the word "nutrition" and found this web page: http://us.naturespath.com/product/heritager-flakes |

Question: | This price can't be for one box. Can anyone confirm how many boxes you get when choosing this product |
Answer: | It can be... there are some crazy priced things here from various sellers. If you look at different varieties from the drop down menu many have the oz then pack of ... this one only has the oz so I would guess it is only one box overpriced. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How many servings are in each six ounce bag |
Answer: | Serving size is 1 cup, so supposedly there are 10-11 servings per bag. But I can eat an entire bag in one sitting!! |
Question: | Anyone know where the grain is actually grown? Says made in US but not sure if that can still mean grown elsewhere, imported and packaged in the US |
Answer: | Nature's Path's site's press release (I can't paste links in here else I would) says they grow on its own 2 farms in Saskatchewan (Canada, above North Dakota) and 1 in northern Montana on a total 5640 acres in addition to a co-op of organic farmers in North America. |
Question: | Does this have aspartame |
Answer: | No, not at all. You can add sweetener of your choice! We use honey and it tastes better than any of the sugary cereals our kids used to eat. |
Question: | what is the best way to store them so they won't get stale |
Answer: | My experience was to store in the bag tightly sealed shut or in an airtight container such as Tupperware or other similar item. That provided the best results. Hopefully they'll be eaten so quickly you won't have to worry too much about getting stale....LOL..have a blessed day.... |
