Question:	Is it recommended to begin a baby with rice cereal before moving on to this
Answer:	You can start infants on almost any food group. Some parents opt to skip grains completely because if you make sure baby gets iron from other food groups like fish, grains aren't necessary and are better digested by a stomach of an older child (as a parent you can determine at what age you want to introduce rice or oats whether it's 6 months or 2 years the choice is yours) that has developed a good mix of bacteria in his/her gut. Avoid uncooked food like sushi/tartare and honey, eggs whites, cow's milk and any food the baby's relatives have allergies to for the first year other than those guide lines baby can eat anything. I started off my daughter on egg yolks, sweet potatoes, unhomogenized whole milk yoghurt and salmon at 6.5 months and have yet to give her rice or oats. Now that she's older I want to introduce oats. But in the case of your question you can do it in whatever order you choose. Do research to make a decision that suits your baby. And pedestrians are there to help give educated suggestions as well.
