I would say they are ok, but I'll be ordering ones with a little more padding next time. These are ok for the price, but I feel they need just a little more padding for desired effect.

Answer:	They don't open. You lay them across the handle and stick the clip down in the hole, then clip your bag to it. It's hard to explain but I promise they work great! And yes they should work with a grocery cart!
