Answer:	Very quiet. Mine did not finish the job before it stopped working and I had to buy a new one at menards. Spent $20 more and buy a better. I was cutting marble and the power was hardly adequate as well.

Answer:	I bought this saw for this very purpose. There are no 4.5" lapidary blades readily available and tile cutting blades are far too thick for valuable gem rough. It would likely fit a 5" blade. However, the saw spins WAY to fast for gem rough in my opinion. Way too easy to make a mistake and destroy the stone. I returned it right away and bought a lapidary trim saw instead.

Answer:	With the right blade and if the metal is not terribly thick it might work. It will throw a lot of sparks regardless. An angle grinder with a metal cutting blade might be a better choice depending on what you are trying to do.

Answer:	with the mk-145 and the diamond blade (i borrowed from my brother) i installed expensive kitchen mosaic glass tile and had no problems at all.it cut the thick glass with no nicks on corners, the only problem was you get a little wet from the saw blade but nothing you can't deal with. i will buy my own saw next time!
