• Stuff the insert into the pocket. If in the snap-down position, the fold should go in front for boys and back for girls. For overnight use, you may include additional inserts or doublers for extra absorbency.

IMPORTANT: Nobody wants a cloth diaper to leak. 99% of the time a leak is due to fit, too long between changes or not enough absorbency. As you know, babies come in all different shapes and sizes. So you might need to change more frequently at first to avoid any leaks.

WASH

Before First Use: Wash all diapers and inserts hot (140F/60C max) at least once before use, using a cloth diaper safe detergent. Wash new bamboo products hot with detergent 3-4 times to bring them to maximum absorbency. No drying is needed between washes.

Dirty Storage: Store in a dry pail.

Wash: Shake off poop into the toilet. Cold pre-wash, no detergent. Wash hot (140F/60C max) with detergent. Extra rinse. No laundry additives. Line dry or tumble dry low. No bleach. No fabric softener.

Tips: Mama Koala recommends a minimum of 24 diapers to cloth diaper full time. Change your baby's diaper every 2-3 hours. We recommend washing every 1-2 days.

For starters, they are pre-shrunk, which means the size you think you're getting is the one you still have after several uses and washes. In regards to pre-washing, unbleached cotton may required 6-8 hot cycle washes to strip away the raw cotton oils to prepare it for maximum absorbency. Answer:	You're supposed to have an outside lining. The cloth goes into of a outer material shaped like a diaper. It's made out of material like (idk the name but you know that fitted sheet that it's not cotton but for toddlers when they wet the bed so it doesn't soak the mattress) they sell the diapers like the on Amazon as well. You fold the cloth and place it inside there then put it on the baby.

Answer:	Yes, I throw in a few towels with the diapers to add some weight and help get the diapers wet enough. Front load washers determine the amount of water to use based on weight. I first run a short rinse cycle to soak everything and increase the weight and then a long heavy duty wash cycle to actually wash the diapers.

Question:	Is there a way to secure the inserts with a snap on the inside of the cover
Answer:	The cover does have a snap button. Don’t know which inserts it’s meant to go with. There are flaps on the edge so you coukd tuck the inserts under
Question:	Is the inside plastic or cloth
Answer:	The inside is plastic (PUL). This is just a waterproofing cover not the cloth diaper.
Question:	The inner leg gusset is against my babies skin but the outer one gaps a little when she moves certain ways. Will this still leak
Answer:	It may, depending on how you place the insert. I've used the prefold in them and they seem to work. I wouldn't use these going out, just at home, just in case.

Question:	Is there a cover for the Velcro for washing to protect it
Answer:	Yes, simply fold each Easy Tab over on itself and they will remain securely closed through the wash and dry cycles. The product image that diagrams various unique features of the SmartNappy cover shows the Easy Tabs in an open position, and the area where they attach to close (covering the hook fastener) is visible as well. Close the tabs prior to placing the diapers in the wash to protect other items in the wash.
Question:	How do you clean the trifold when soiled
Answer:	Newborn poo is liquidy or pasty and water-soluble, so the soiled reusable insert can be easily washed in the washer. Use a diaper pail and wash your reusable inserts in the washer every other day or so. Using a soaking solution in the diaper pail is your choice. Many parents do not soak the reusable inserts. Instead, they use a liner in the pail and lift the filled liner out of the pail and put the entire bag in the washer. Older babies, when they start eating solids around 6 months, will have solid poop. Shake solid stool into the toilet or use a bio-liner on top of insert and use the bio-liner to move stool to toilet. Might sound gross now, but parents tell us all the time that it's not that big a deal & easy to do when caring for your sweet baby.
