Question:	How does this teether help little ones to transition away from a pacifier? It says on the package that it does that
Answer:	My son never took to teethers, however he loved to chew on his binks, which of course greatly shortened their life span. For us, it got him away from using his binks during the day as much. I was able to clip it on like a bink and he would chew on it some and occasionally would suck on it for a few moments. He can also twist it sideways to put it behind his front few teeth to chew on it now that he is cutting the second and third set of teeth. Overall, it helped to get him out of the habit of sucking for comfort or out of habit the majority of his day. Probably because they are not really "suckable" and he would either spit it out or chew on it instead. He still loves his bink, but he knows it is for bed/nap time, car rides, or rare occasions. The only negative I have found, is that like the Latex Nuk binks or other brands of binks or sippys and such with a similar texture, it will pick up dust, hair, or anything. We also explored the different stages of sippy cups and found that taking him up a couple levels to the harder soft "nipple" cups( such as the Nuby 3 Stage combo) were a trade off as well. Instead of wandering around with a bink, we kept a water sippy on the coffee table in the play room or living room and he would use that as a replacement of sorts at first as well. It took about a week to settle on a cup he loved, but soon he was setting the bink down on the table and cruising off with the sippy. But, unlike the bink, he was setting it down and going to play, so he got out of the habit of sucking on it all the time. Even now, I've noticed at night he generally only sucks on his bink while he is falling asleep and once he is asleep, it's out. Since he is still majorly teething, and he is an awful teether who wakes up during the night often when a tooth is about to come in, we haven't taken the next step to see if he can sleep all night without it. I do think it has helped. Especially if it's the only option you give because it really is not suckable. For me, I felt awful taking away his comfort thing when I know he is miserable teething, but now that he's walking his binks were constantly ending up weird random places and hunting them during a melt down at night or nap was awful. Since I solved both of his "needs" for the bink in other ways with a chew bink he loved and a sippy cup, I never have had the melt downs over the disappearance of binks I expected. He spits it out in his crib when I go to get him up in the morning or nap like its no big deal now.
