Other IR measurement devices, and I have one from Etekcity that's black and yellow is good for temps from -58F to 716F degrees per the label on it. That one just measured by stover burner at 408F, plus my fridge was 40F and freezer was +3F. This one is much better for humans and the etekcity is better for no humans. I read 94F on Etekcity and 98.6F for this unit on my forehead. This is made for people.

Answer:	Its reading in celcius. 38° celcius is 100° fareheight... there should be directionns on how to change the readout to °F..

Answer:	Go to the F3 menu to turn the sound off.

Answer:	Yes, as long as it is looking at a surface. It won't measure a gas. If the grill is a plate. OK. If it is a grate, It would be confused.

Answer:	I have used this Infrared Thermometer for the past few weeks. I use it at our church service to check the temps of members coming into our sanctuary. In all honesty i have not seen a reading of 98.6 on the screen. I have seen many others like 97.5, 97.8 and so on. This thermometer is a very easy to use and extremely easy to read. see less
