Answer:	This is an older question but it gets asked a lot so for others I’ll answer. AC inverters are not well suited to high sustained loads like space heaters. A typical household space heater will draw around 1500W on “high” and usually around 1000W on “low”. At “low, or 1000W, for example, you will be placing a roughly 100A load on your battery bank. If your battery bank could actually sustain 100A while delivering its full rated amp-hour capacity then a 125Ah battery would be 100% depleted within a single hour of running the space heater on its “low” setting! However, lead acid batteries are subject to the Peukert Effect, which can significantly reduce the accessible capacity of the lead acid battery under high demand loads. As a result, a typical flooded deep cycle lead acid battery with an amp draw nearly equal to its 20-hour Amp-hour capacity rating (which is normally based upon a C/20, or 20-hour discharge cycle) will typically only be able to deliver about 50% of its claimed Amp-hour capacity, or about 62Ah, at such a high sustained load before the voltage would plummet below the 10.5VDC that represents “100%” depleted and the inverter will go into low voltage shutdown to protect both the battery and itself. In other words, that 125Ah battery would be effectively dead after just 30 minutes of operation! One needs an enormous battery bank to sustain a 1000W (1KW) load over an extended period of time. A similar conundrum exists with running air conditioning, only air conditioning uses less than 1/3rd the power per BTU compares to resistive heating. Answer:	I was disappointed with the 300 watt unit also as it won't power a small refrigerator which draws only 45 watts when operating but has a startup surge of perhaps 500 watts. I have it plugged into a 30 amp 12v outlet hooked to 2 six volt deep cycle batteries wired in series for 12 volt, so plenty of power. I think the advertised 600 watt surge capacity is not long enough to start the compressor. I'm going to order a capacitor to help with the surge and see if that works.

Answer:	Because car battery capacity is small, easily cause battery low voltage and can not start the engine.

Question:	How to ground this inverter
Answer:	This inverter has a floating ground. Very dangerous in some situations. You have 3 connectors, Hot, neutral, and ground on most u.s. outlets the top left is neutral, top right is hot (black wire) bottom round connector is ground (earth ground) In the breaker panel both Ground and neutral go to the same grounding bar. (Green and White wires) The black wire goes to either side of your 220v service, so black is 110v. If you are still with me then here is where the poorly designed inverter can kill you or blow smoke... Inverters like this one have the same three wires however you may be shockingly surprised to find out that Ground, and Neutral are not common or tied together, but rather Ground floats between the two neutral and Hot lines, which each carry 60volts. So between neutral and ground you actually have 60v ac and between ground and hot you have 60v ac. Between neutral and Hot you get 120v ac. If you connect this inverter to a cabin or anything wired by a standard, or correctly, you will be shorting out half of this inverter. If you wire it into a camper which has the potential to not always be earth grounded, you may get a good shock. These inverters are pretty much useless unless you want to try to rewire and isolate the thing.
