I've done a test myself with a similar pack where I disconnected my car battery (to pretend it was dead) and tried the pack alone. My 4 cylinder car did start, but cranked so slowly I didn't think it was going to as I held the key for 3 seconds. With that experience I doubt this alone could handle a truck with 2 batteries that are both fully drained and even an OEM rep from Clore suggested their next bigger unit (the JNC950). To be honest with you I'd not buy the 950 for $250 when I can get a 35 amp-hour battery like it has for $70 (which leaves me $150+ to buy jumper cables & a charger separately), but that's just me. In any case, don't get too sold on the "1700 peak amps" labels since these are not that big a battery (just as it weighs 15 lbs versus 45 lbs for a real car battery, that's the ratio of power I expect).

Answer:	When your battery is REALLY DEAD , you need to give it a few minutes for some juice to go into the dead battery. Then try to start the car. Even if starting off another running cars battery, hook up the jumpers and wait 5 minutes, then try. This is not anything with this device, it's just how jumping dead batteries is. If the battery is mildly dead then it may start right up immediately. This thing started my 99 Cherokee 4.0L no prob.

USING STEPS

Four operation situation after connecting the clamps to your car battery:

• Stable Green Light: correct connection.
• Blinking Red Light with Buzzing Noise: incorrect (opposite) connection of battery poles. Please reconnect (switching clamps) and wait for the stable green light to indicate correct connection.
• Blinking Green Light with Buzzing Noise: voltage of the car battery is low. Please press the BOOST button and start car within 30s after getting a steady green light.
• No Light with No Buzzing Noise: the car battery is totally dead. Please make sure the connection is correct, then press the BOOST button and start the car within 30s after getting a steady green light.

General Question:

• The jumper cable makes a beep after being connected with the booster.

--- The power of T8 MAX is too low to start your car and you will need to fully charge it.

• The jumper cable is not long enough to connect two terminals of your car battery.

--- If the jumper cable is too short to connect the terminals of your car battery, please connect the red clamp to the positive pole, then you only need to connect the black clamp to the other metal part of car battery, it doesn't have to be connected to the negative pole. Then you could jump your car by following the using steps.
