Shorter is better too since power decreases the longer the cable. For most folks, 12' will be fine.

Answer:	I'm not sure that option was available when I purchased mine. If you click on the link at the top which includes the EVA case, you can see a photo of it (and click on the photos at the left.) So instead of the nylon drawstring bag, you can get the upgraded zippered case for the cables instead. Note that the cables are easy to fit in to the drawstring bag. Having not seen the zippered case, I can't say anything about it.

Answer:	Check the output of the voltage regulators. If they are bad, then you could replace them (probably not cost effective unless you have the part handy).
