Answer:	Maybe. Don’t throw away your old battery. There may be nothing wrong with it. You have to have a 10% charge in order to run an updated bios. If you decide to get a new charger save your old one. Check with the Dell support community. They have many solutions. I did them all. Now my old charger works again. I still think the main problem is that the charger plug does not make contact. I have to position mine in a precise way to get it to charge.

Answer:	The length of warranty on paper doesn’t matter because getting them to act on it is difficult. They wanted me to send the charger to them at my cost and wait without a charger for 6?weeks

Answer:	The clamps are metal on the inside (obviously), and a durable plastic on the outside as insulating covers. Looks to be pretty durable, I've had no problems with them. But then, I tend to take care of my toys! :-) This unit, by the way, was an excellent investment...after having owned several less-capable chargers. This one restored my Yellow Top battery back to its full capacity in short order! I own a Tahoe Hybrid and had installed the Yellow Top as a result of standard batteries not holding a full charge after a year or two, and often draining when not running the Tahoe at least once every 4-5 days or so. Can connect full-time to the battery the accompanying cable, making the use of clamps unnecessary! Just have to remember to unplug it!
