Answer:	it would be good to get a voltage reading on the battery with a digital voltmeter-one with a scale that can tell the difference between 1-20 volts. Take a reading on the battery with nothing on- then notice how low it drops with lights and horn- then while cranking the engine. If the battery is below 12.6 volts to start with a charge may help-then repeat the above tests. If the battery shows a full charge but drops below 10 volts while trying to crank, it may be bad. If there is no noticeable drop while it should be cranking (but no crank) you may have a connection or other problem. Will the bike jump start?
Question:	I would have to charge my dead battery outside. Could I hook this up and then leave in the engine bay with the hood closed while charging

Answer:	Don't agree with D. Raupp: the number is not the amps it can put out but likely a number larger that 4.3 to show that it's a newer version in their line up. This charger is the next generation of the 4.3 with updated features/improvements, also with an added feature - the temperature sensing/adjustment. Called CTEK today and they said that 5.0 replaces the 4.3 which they are phasing out. This unit charges with several different amps: 0.8A; 4.3A; 2.5A; and 1.5A and switches automatically between them depending on which phase of the charge cycle it is in.

Answer:	The user manual does not say anything about slow charging; it might charge the battery to a point if connected to it but it won't be slow. The car battery charger can charge small electronic devices via USB ports, but the charging circuitry that controls, monitors and limits the amount of current that goes to charge these devices is in the small electronic device itself. Answer:	The length of warranty on paper doesn’t matter because getting them to act on it is difficult. They wanted me to send the charger to them at my cost and wait without a charger for 6?weeks

Answer:	The clamps are metal on the inside (obviously), and a durable plastic on the outside as insulating covers. Looks to be pretty durable, I've had no problems with them. But then, I tend to take care of my toys! :-) This unit, by the way, was an excellent investment...after having owned several less-capable chargers. This one restored my Yellow Top battery back to its full capacity in short order! I own a Tahoe Hybrid and had installed the Yellow Top as a result of standard batteries not holding a full charge after a year or two, and often draining when not running the Tahoe at least once every 4-5 days or so. Can connect full-time to the battery the accompanying cable, making the use of clamps unnecessary! Just have to remember to unplug it!
