Question:	Will toughcrete 8500 work on a garage floor that has already started to pit
Answer:	My garage floor was pitted due to road salt in the Chicagoland area. I scrubbed and scraped the pitted areas with a metal ice breaking bar to remove any loose material, washed it with concrete cleaner and then applied the Toughcrete. It's been two winters now and I don't see any new or worsening pitting.
Question:	I have a new garage with new concrete. can i apply this before we start using it or do i have to wait? also can i apply colored sealer over it later
Answer:	Ideally you should wait approximately one month for the concrete to fully cure after it is poured to apply ToughCrete - at that point you are definitely safe to apply ToughCrete. To answer your second question, applying a colored sealer later on is going to be fine. ToughCrete is a breathable sealer and will penetrate into the capillaries of the concrete and prevent water absorption and the surface of the concrete (after some time and wear and tear) should be in good shape for a colored sealer to go over top. There should be no adhesion issues but we always recommend doing a test sample prior to applying another product over top of ToughCrete to ensure the adhesion is acceptable. Answer:	I would check with the manufacturer. They do not specifically state that it can be used to seal basement walls only that it can be used as a sealer on concrete, stone, pavers and the like.

Answer:	Probably not what you would want to use. I used it outside on my patio pavers and it left a glossy finish on them.

After 12 hours, you must scuff (break the glaze) on the surface for re-coat purposes for the purposes of optimum adhesion. Question:	Do you need to use sealer
Answer:	This seal is not big enough to bridge a gap that big - it won't handle much more than 1/2". I bought a different seal - Garage Door Parts Clopay T-end Bottom Rubber Seal - 4 1/2"x20' - and used it with the same track in this kit. It can probably handle up to 2". My garage door has a gap of 1 1/4" either end (of a 16ft door) and it seals really nicely.
Question:	For those who used liquid nails construction adhesive to put it down, how long before you could drive your car over it into the garage
Answer:	No. There are no pre-drilled holes in the aluminum.
Question:	Is it solid rubber, or is it hollow inside
Answer:	It is not thin or cheap and it does compress as you would expect; it does bounce back. I have a slightly sloped floor (or door) and the rubber completely compresses on one side and not so much on the side that is a bit (1/4') lower. Performs well.
Question:	Can you apply this to a garage floor that has epoxy on it
Answer:	it comes in (4) 4-1/2 ft. long pieces... my door is only 16 wide so I cut them down to 4 ft each (soft aluminum... used a hacksaw) and deburred the edges with a sanding block... as long as you line them up when attaching them, the appearance is seamless and there were no issues pushing the gasket on (with a helper is easier... one person feeds one end and the other person glides the leading edge across).

Answer:	I'd have to say no on that one. It could probably take a little heat but anything close to direct flames, forget it.

Answer:	I don't know for sure, but with the way it looks and feels on my table, I would think that yes, it will make the stone slick.
Question:	How do you apply it? Brush, spray bottle, pesticide spray hose etc? I'll be using it for about 30 stones approx 7"x
Answer:	We applied it to a slate floor with a wool pad applicator, made for applying floor finishes. Worked well. We were going to use a paint roller, but since the instructions didn't mention that in its list of ways to apply, I was worried it may create bubbles or cause problems. The instructions do list a pad applicator, paint brush, or low presure sprayer. The consistemcy out of the bottle is about like skim milk, or watered down Elmers glue. Dries within an hour, pleasant smell, easy to work with. Did 3 coats. We are extremely pleased with the results.

Answer:	I am not familiar with concrete dusting issues. I would ask your contractor that poured the concrete as to if that is a normal problem to have. From my experience, Masonry Defender Garage Floor Sealer does a fantastic job and makes cleanup of spills effortless.
Question:	I don’t want to stick it and just put it on the floor outside shower so the water doesn’t go to the sideboards. Will it work if I don’t glue/caulk it
Answer:	It is my understanding that these products are for bare surfaces. Epoxy floor coverings would have to be removed to expose the bare concrete surface and properly cleaned before applying this type of sealer.

Answer:	I am pretty sure that the yellow strips are there for safety reasons; neither the black rubber nor the grey concrete would be very visible in an otherwise dark garage or at night, and it would be easy to accidentally trip over the strip without the yellow highlight. Just guessing here of course, as I have not yet installed my threshold.

Answer:	We have not had freezing temperatures here yet in South Carolina to test the material but I would think it would be ok. The material would compare to automobile tire rubber. It is extremely durable. Temps that cold, the garage door would be closed anyway and water will not get under the door seal.

Answer:	This is easy to install yourself. If you don't have the minimal skills to do it yourself or don't want to, any local handyman should be able to do it without any problems. I installed one last year at my son's home in North Carolina on the Outer Banks. He had water seeping into his garage any time he had wind driven rain directly hitting his double wide garage door. Since I installed this product, he hasn't had any issues.

Answer:	I don’t think that would work. It’s not heavy enough to stay in place without gluing it down and water would run under it.

Answer:	No way, I would not do that. From what I read, it is only meant to adhere directly to concrete which has been removed of all other paint, stain ,etc. Just pull it up and you'll save much $.

Answer:	I couldn’t return it.

Answer:	I would not recommend applying over tile...it is semi-transparent and may give an undesired look. A uniform color before application was recommended. I believe there is a primer that could be used if you want to still apply over the tile.
