Question:	This charger is rated up to 50 amps. Is it auto sensing or it a manual switch? More to the point, what wire size is needed
Answer:	The charger can deliver up to 50 continuous amps, which would require a circuit wired for at least 60 amps (60 amp circuit can deliver 80% of rating, so 48 amps). 60 amp circuits at 80% require 6 gauge wire. You set the maximum capacity of the charger when you configure it on the ChargePoint amp. EVs only draw the amount they are capable of charging at - so 9.6 Kw for most EVs except Teslas (240 V times 40 amps) New Teslas can draw above 50 amps, so that is what the max setting on the app does - it limits the safe output to the circuit capacity. There is no manual switch on the charger, it is all set through the app.
Question:	Is it possible to extend the nema 14-50 plug cable length by swapping it like you would a dryer
Answer:	This is why you need to research electrical codes or use an electrician. The 12” requirement in NEC 625.22 mandates the 12” applies to the “personal protection system” location to the plug not to the cord length from plug to vehicle that requirement is a minimum of of 6’ and max of 15’. Just google NEC 625 page 4 section 625.17 for more details
Question:	Can it be set to charge to a certain percentage of charge? Like charge my battery to
Answer:	No. I set the charge limit to 70% in my vehicle (I can also do 80% or other value). Then I set the charge time (10pm-6am) in the ChargePoint app. An alternative is to have a short charge time (say 10-12pm). The charger does not know how much the vehicle is charged.
Question:	If the app experiences a problem or ChargePoint stops supporting it, what’s the default setting for amperage and is there a manual way to change it
Answer:	Hi there, Before you set up ChargePoint Home using the ChargePoint mobile app, the default amperage is set at 16A. However, once you select your preferred amperage during the set up process in the app, the chosen amperage (up to 50A) becomes your default going forward. Answer:	On my car i just unlock the car with the keyfob which releases the charger port lock you are referring to, but only temporary (ie: you need to unplug within 30 seconds or so, or the car will relock it) Another alternative is to simply unplug this from the wall.

Answer:	At 120V the charger charges at 1/2 the rate of 240 Volts The calculation of KVA or KW depends on both amps and volts. So if you use this charges at 240V, it is a 3.6 KW charger and at 120V it is a 1.8 KW. At either voltage the amp draw can be as high at 16 AMPS.
Question:	Hi, can I charge in my 110v outlet? and what is the output voltage
Answer:	This unit has an adapter that you can use for either 110V or 220V (the small cord). these cords do not change the voltage, they only monitor for faults and send what ever voltage the unit is plugged into, through to the car.

We bought the NEMA6-20 plug with level 1 adapter unit. The product was shipped well and arrived as scheduled. A couple of key things we like over the factory supplied charger: The wall hook to easily wrap the cord around and the "gun" holder you stick the charger into while it is not charging in the car. It's light weight and smaller than our original charger. It is nice to be able to easily adapt to the charging outlets available. We charged on 110 until we bought the 220 outlet and it was a simple switch for us. That option was available on the factory charger. We are happy so far!

1.Check Your Socket Circuit Breaker or GFCI Socket

• Our EV Charger working current is 16A. Please check your breaker whether more than 16A. (18A, 20A, 30A .... is also OK)
• The good choice is the 18A or 20A circuit breaker. Otherwise, it will trip your breaker if the breaker max Amp is lower than 16A.

2.Check Your Socket Type Whether NEMA 6-20/ NEMA 5-15 / NEMA 5-20 And Check the Wire Gauge Of Socket

• The NEMA 6-20 plug can fit with NEMA 6-20 socket. The unit used with NEMA 5-15 adapter can fit with NEMA 5-15 / 5-20 socket.
• The way to check socket type is according to words was lettered in outlet or you can compare the outlet with our cartoon.
• DON’T use this charger if your socket wired with 16/3C or 18/3C cable.

Answer:	Ok from the NEC you are required to run 40 amps for this device. Then what should be done is place a 30 amp disconnect before the device. So from the panel you will run 8 gauge wire to support the 40 amps. Then that will terminate in the disconnect which would be fused at 30 amps. So if the devices pulls more than 30 it will blow the fuse since this device shouldn't be drawing MORE than 30 amps.

Answer:	You need to ensure the charging voltage and terminal type of your scooter. This charger is for charging a 36v battery with a 5.5mm/2.5mm connector. If that is what your scooter is it will work. The 5.5/2.5 plug is standard, if it looks like it will fit it should, but you need to ensure your battery is a 36v battery. If it’s a 24v battery it will overcharge and damage the battery and possibly cause a fire hazard. If it’s a 48v battery it will not charge it much more than 25% before it thinks the battery is charged.

We bought the NEMA6-20 plug with level 1 adapter unit. The product was shipped well and arrived as scheduled. A couple of key things we like over the factory supplied charger: The wall hook to easily wrap the cord around and the "gun" holder you stick the charger into while it is not charging in the car. It's light weight and smaller than our original charger. It is nice to be able to easily adapt to the charging outlets available. We charged on 110 until we bought the 220 outlet and it was a simple switch for us. That option was available on the factory charger. We are happy so far!

Answer:	As chris says, it will deliver the same amount of electricity, so your bill won't go up. It could theoretically lower your bill if (1) you have "time of use" billing and (2) the cheap time window is too short to fully charge your EV with the 12 amp charger.
