User questions & answers

Question: What type of tang, please? Ty
Answer: I'm not sure if you're looking for some specific information, such as tang style? But if you are wanting to know if it's a full tang knife, yes it is.
Question: where is it made
Answer: China. But to Hibben standards, so it's quality.
Question: How thick is the blade
Answer: About as thick as a machete blade.
Question: does this NOW come with a sheath
Answer: Yes it does, not a great one but yes.
Question: Is this sword good for combat situations? Is it durable against other swords? If attacked by a bear, will I be able to win against it with this
Answer: Thats a question that has no yes or no answer. If put against a sword of equal steel or in about the same price range itd be fine. But I'd put money that a cold steel brand katana or anything up from there quality wise would break this like a cheap toy. When i got mine i was still rather uneducated in quality craftsmanship but looking back i remember the blade on this being pretty thin and the grinds were horribly uneven on both sides. So if you got the money i would suggest looking for a better brand, but beware even cold steels gladius is pretty sub par, a good brand to look at would be hanwei. As far as a bear goes thats more up to skill and luck, this sword could more than likely hold up to slicing through tissue but would probably roll edge on the bone , for bears id say just use a dessert eagle and save the blades for there young. If you meant the "hairless" type of bear, this and basically any thing with a edge would be sufficient, it doesn't take too much as the skin of those foul creatures is very fragile to edges😉
Question: How does this compare to the cold steel gladius
Answer: UC Combat Commander: 1060 Carbon Steel CS Gladius Machete: 1055 Carbon Steel UC forging/heat treating methods: 3.5/5 CS forging/heat treating methods: 4.5/5 Neither is particularly better. UC used steel with .05% more carbon content, however both are high carbon sword steels. Cold Steel uses state-of-the-art forging and heat treating methods, though to be honest both of these two machetes are probably made in the same factory in China/Taiwan. Choose one purely based on aesthetics. They will perform the same.
Question: can it be thrown accurately
Answer: It's not meant for throwing.
Question: Why does the part where the tang and blade connects, look so breakable
Answer: This thing is solid and I have no doubt that it will hold up to anything you throw at it!
Question: how thick is the blade
Answer: I don't know. It is 20 inches long and possibly 1/8 inches thick.
Question: What is the length of the blade in inches
Answer: 20" blade
Question: Is the sheath right handed or left handed
Answer: Right handed
Question: does it come with a sheath
Answer: Yes, it comes with a black leather sheath. The fit is fairly tight and the snap on the retaining strap is a little difficult until it stretches a bit.
Question: cAN I wear this in the horizontal position in the small of my back? on my belt
Answer: I made mine work by cutting and repositioning the leather belt loop. The problem is the little loop that keeps the blade secure. Mine works, it's too bad they didn't think of offering a different option.
Question: So, has anyone verified visually for themselves, is it full tang or a bar type tang ending in that pommel that threads on
Answer: Sorry but No, I have not disassembled this knife to verify what type of tang it has. I personally feel that for the price, it probably has a "rat tail" style tang... This style tang is a bar about halfway then tapers down to a narrow "tail" that looks similar to what is on most bastard files.. On a different note... I added 6 O-rings to the end of the handle where the grooves are to make the handle more compatible with my hand size. Again, Sorry that I do not know what type tang this knife has for certain.

Question: with the clip how does it attach to the boot and is it secure enough to stay on
Answer: I don't clip it to my boots. Too big to be comfortable. But it stays very tight on my backpack.
Question: Anyone know a knife sharpener that would work on the blades for this
Answer: Carefully try a hand held or take it to a professional.
Question: Is it made in America? Is it cast or forged

User questions & answers

Question: Could someone tell me the actual gripping area on this knife. Size stated seems very short to grip. Thanks
Answer: It is a short grip, just figured it was that long for the boot knife
Question: what is the blade width
Answer: My knife is 1 3/8" @ widest .....mmm3
Question: What is blade legnth
Answer: Blade length is 5 inches, 3 1/2 Handle.
Question: Is this a boot knife , or a belt knife ?? some reviews read that some like the " belt " clip . the listing reads " boot knife ". does it matter
Answer: The clip can be used for either really. You can clip it to your belt and wear as a regular knife or clip it to boot. I like the clip cause you don't have to take belt off when putting on. Also most boot knives are usually daggers so this is not your traditional boot knife.

Answer: Comes with a strong TPR/nylon belt sheath
Question: Is this knife full tang
Answer: Yes it does have a full tang.
Question: What exactly is the point of this knife
Answer: Listen, you primitive, naysaying scrub. Last week I took the bus to work like usual, but it crashed and happened to careen over the border into Kansastan. A long-simmering bush war against the People's Obliteration Army was the perfect opportunity for Super Rabies to go critical- it evolved a mutation, and transmitted an epidemic of epic proportions. Luckily, I had my bug out bag, a zombie survival plan, 70 pounds of silver bullion, and my trusty M48 cyclone twisty murder knife, without with I would not be alive today, good sir!
