Answer:	I think it would be perfect for that application, Clean up was very easy.
Question:	Can it work with normal car paint
Answer:	Yes, it'll work with one stage and two stage paint. (Polyurethane mix)
Question:	What would be the easiest way to use this with plastidip? Spray multiple thin coats or a couple thick coats
Answer:	First coat is a light coat, 50% overlap, the coats after that should be thick enough for even coverage without running, continuing with the 50% overlap. The more coats you do the better it will protect and also it will peel off a lot easier if it has multiple layers. If you are masking off a portion of the car that will have a tap line instead of a panel break then you will want to remove the tap while the final coat is still wet. It will help prevent the tape from peeling back your coat of plasti-dip. Watch tutorials from dip-your-car on YouTube, he uses a different gun but it's pretty much the same. He has really helpful videos.
Question:	Can i use this with plastidip
Answer:	That's an interesting question. Th bed coating I used is thick, but not as thick as plastidip. I would say not, but I am guessing. I have also used it to spray elastomeric roof coatings, and it handled that fine.

Question:	Is the pressure gauge necessary? i am also looking at an astro brand spray gun and none of them include the pressure gauge? thanks
Answer:	Pressure gauges are not necessary if you have some sort of gauge in your air system allowing you to adjust the air pressure. However, having a gauge at the gun will allow better and more consistent control of pressures recommended for the products your spraying, which will help you with achieving the desired results.
Question:	Would this be good to paint a car
Answer:	I bought this to spray primers and it works very well for that task but for bases and clears I'm not sure how it would do. I wouldn't recommend it simply because of the fact that it has a 1.7 mm tip which is too large for bases and even clears so if you do decide to go with this brand gun I'd suggest going with a 1.4 mm tip. I personally own a Finnex FX3000 with 1.4 mm tip to spray base and clear coats and I LOVE that gun. Works great, sprays smooth and the design is awesome, very comfortable in the hand.
Question:	Has anyone used this unit for kitchen cabinet refinishing with Latex Cabinet Paint
Answer:	With the nickel finish you'll generally want paint with thinner, otherwise stuff gets gummy on the inside, use thinner and clean well and you'll be golden. On long work projects I recommend cleaning after 60-90 minutes of use then resuming.
Question:	I plan to paint kitchen cabinets using oil base or alkyd enamel. is 2.0 mm the proper size for this paint
Answer:	I used to use a 1.7 and I would thin latex paint for kitchen cabinets. Makes for a little bit of a finer finish but the 2.0 would work great. Something to consider though, with the experience I have had using over the years with these sprayers they work great, no complaints BUT I recently upgraded to an airless sprayer (a Graco unit from Home Depot). It's definitely a little more expensive on the front end but if you plan to spray anything including kitchens with a little frequency it cut actual spray time down significantly. It took a tenth of the time to spray the same sized kitchen with our graco unit vs the neiko. Good luck!

Spraying Technique

CAUTION: DO NOT STOP WHEN SPRAYING.

Spraying materials will start to set and dry.as soon as they come in contact with the air.





They will cause a permanent clog if not cleared.immediately.If discontinuing spraying for more than half an hour, turn off the air supply, disconnect Cup from Gun Body and thoroughly rinse Cup and Gun Body with fresh, clean water.

 

Paint Preparation and Filling

Note:Proper paint mixture is essential. Follow the manufacturer’s directions. Most paints will spray easily if they are thinned properly.

1. Thread the Cup to the Gun Body and tighten until the Cup is securely in place.

2. Thin the paint according to manufacturer’s directions and mix thoroughly.

Answer:	I had one that worked great for latex. I ran 60-100 psi air and never thinned the paint. my problem was I dropped the sprayer head and broke the aluminum pickup tube and can't find a replacement

Answer:	We have not use this gun for this purpose but I assume that it will. We fill the gun with solvent after we pain to clean it up and it sprays the solvent just like paint. The gun is a good value for the money.

Thin Latex Paint

Quality latex paint is significantly thicker than traditional finishes and must be thinned before it is useful as a spray finish. Insufficient thinning results in the paint coming out of the spray gun in unsightly blobs or not at all.

●While you must thin latex paint with water, the amount of water you must add varies from brand to brand. Higher quality latex paint is thicker, therefore requiring more water; lower quality latex paint is thinner, therefore requiring less water.

Answer:	Same problem, did come off but suspecting dried paint soaked briefly in lacquer thinner by putting several drops in where the cup screws on, point nozzle downwards. Be careful if you do put gun in vise, seems to me possible to break body with too much force sideways. Also lacquer thinner may compromise needle packing so not too much, point nozzle downwards leaving needle in place to keep things closed. Yeah, better wrench wil help, think it is 13mm.
Question:	What is the CFM recommended for these guns
Answer:	The recommended inlet air pressure for both the full size and touchup gun is 30 PSI, giving 10 PSI at the air cap on both guns. This pressure consumes 13 CFM on the full size gun and 8 CFM on the touchup gun. Everything you need to know to get started is on the first page of the included instructions. They recommend using a 5/16" ID or larger air hose. I would recommend a 3/8" ID hose as the hose and fittings are readily available. I've used these guns with as low as a 1 hp motor/40 gallon tank compressor but a larger capacity compressor gives an assured constant pressure and doesn't have to work so hard to keep up. All guns and paint types are different so I suggest that you get a piece of old sheet metal to get the feel of your guns and paint. I've got an old truck hood out back that I use regularly. Make sure you use a good regulator and moisture/contaminant trap. Let me know if you have any further questions!

I have had a Starting line set for 8 years, painted approx. 50 cars, and they are still spraying like new. Keeping ANY paint gun cleaned and maintained will make a world of difference.

Answer:	I have painted cabinets, drawers, doors, and walls with this sprayer. It works great! I would like to make a recommendation and that is to add water to your paint. The output increases and lessens the burden on the motor. You can go without adding water to thin it however there is a difference in output and you can smell and hear the motor working much harder.

Answer:	Mine removes just as any other HVLP gun would, make sure youre turning the big grooved ring and not just the tip.

Answer:	It is not equipped at present, but it will be available soon. If there are no special requirements for other brands of nozzles on Amazon, most of them are suitable for our paint gun.

Answer:	This would be very slow at spraying latex paint (or anything thicker) on walls. If you're spraying a lacquer or other much thinner finish it may work well though. If you're spraying latex paint, look for an airless sprayer instead - Home Depot has a couple good brands. Haven't shopped for them here myself though.
