Question:	What is the smallest/largest pads you could use with this
Answer:	For what it comes with, a 6" pad. You could also install either a 5" backing plate or possibly a 3" plate as well and use the appropriate pads (3-5.5" pads respectively). I would not use anything outside that range for polishing paint. There MIGHT be carpet and upholstery brush attachments for this unit (which is what I use it for exclusively) that are 6.5". I'm not sure, but for paint, see above.
Question:	Does the polisher come with a backing plate? Can I just use it out of the box
Answer:	There is no backing plate with this, I just received my 7424XP and had to pick the plate up from Home Depot before I could use it. The only thing included is a polishing pad.
Question:	How would this compare with a dewalt dwp849x 7-inch/9-inch variable speed polisher . it’s the cheaper of the two options so i need some advice
Answer:	Better is a matter of opinion, so, this is difficult to answer. Not entirely sure what you are trying to accomplish. Are you intending upon becoming a professional detailer? Are you intending to detail your car and friends/relatives, i.e. concerned amateur. How often do you want to use this? I detailed 3 cars and once detailed, I keep them cleaned and polished and sealed. I will never let my cars get to the situation where a polisher is needed. So, I don't intend to use it unless someone else wants their car detailed. I don't intend upon becoming a professional, if I did, I would get a Flex 3401 VRG direct drive DA which means a great combination of a DA and rotary but it is costs more than the 7424XP and the DWP849x together. (currently Flex is made in Germany but owned by a Chinese company). Both Porter-Cable and DeWalt are owned by Stanley, Black & Decker and both are made in Mexico. If country of origin matters, and since both are made in Mexico there is no difference. The DWP849x has soft start and the tigger is variable speed up to the speed you select, and you can lock the trigger into the full on position (where it will run at the speed you've selected). I've had the chance to use the DWP940x and for my application, I'd rather not spend $200 and 7"/9" is not required. If you want to use "normal" sized pads, you'll need to gat an additional backing plate, like a 5" or 6" Larger pads are available but leaves you with less choices and are typically more expensive. If you go with DWP849x, I'd recommend a smaller backing plate (I believe the "rating" of 7"/9" just means you can use larger backing plates and pads) with either a 5" or 6" backing plate (roughly $8-$20). You could damage your car if you use a smaller pad than the backing plate. A pad should always be larger than the backing plate, but obviously not too large a difference (like 3" backing plate with a 7" pad). The Porter Cable does not come with a backing plate, but I bought some pads and there was a special offer (from the place that I bought it) that the backing plate was "free" if you bought 3 pads. To me (and only me) the extra $80 for the DWP849x, I'd rather have the 7424XP and spend the money on pads/backing plates and products (polish, sealant/wax, decontaminates, clay bar, etc.); keeping in mind that you'd still have to buy those anyway. If you are a true beginner, the lower cost 7424XP would be a great starting point. The DWP849x weighs just over 3 lbs. and the 7424XP is nearly 6 lbs. But the weight of the 7424XP means that I used the weight of the polisher to apply the pressure instead of applying pressure by hand.

Answer:	Yea, its just a hose and the compressor. It does overheat after about maybe 15-30 minutes. But it really is portable and it fit with my air brush.

Answer:	I have a siphon fed airbrush. I have had little to no success with this compressor. I would not recommend it for a siphon fed brush.

Answer:	BLACKFIRE Advanced Pad Cleaner & Restorer is a concentrated citrus-based degreaser that breaks up and releases stubborn compound and polish residue from buffing pads.
Question:	does it use sticky sandpaper or hook and loop
Answer:	Other pads are better suited for that job. I use Chemical Guys pads with Meguiar's Ultra-Cut Compound 105 on the Porter Cable 7424XP Random Orbit Polisher and the micro-scratches come right out. In my experience, that's a better combination (of compound and pads) than using this type of pad.
Question:	What is the difference between this porter cable 7346spr and the porter cable 7424xp
Answer:	The polishing action is very gentle and leaves no swirls or marks on my car's paint but I would talk to a granite sales person about this just to be safe.

Answer:	The Dremel Flex Shaft 225-01 fits models (according to the Flex Shaft package): 800, 8200, 8220, 275/100, 285/200, 395, 398, 300, 3000, 400, 4000, 4200. The Flex Shaft package says on the back, "This attachment is compatible with the 4200 when used with the 4200 Attachment Adapter found in your Dremel 4200 kit."

Answer:	I use the keyless chuck almost exclusively on all my Dremels. The flex shaft attachment needs no chuck. The 225-01 flex shaft is heavier built than the older models and seems to stay cooler and easier to "steady "when doing boring or precision carving. The Diamond Dust coated bits from Dremel and others work well on glass. Don't get too aggressive, keep the heavier pieces cool, and possibly lubricate the thinner glass while grinding or boring. running water keeps the micro dust down, saves cracking pieces, and adds to the safety of the operation. Wear your goggles and N-95 mask. The Flex Shaft will need a good rinsing, drying, and light oiling after working with glass. Try to avoid the spade-type glass cutting bits unless you have a lot of glass to waste, or a drill press with a precision Quill and really stable vise.

Answer:	Yes. You pick what type of wax, compounds, glaze(s), you want to use. This machine is replacing the elbow grease you would be needing with a rag. But the chemicals and steps you choose to take to make that final car of yours shine is what you need to figure out. Chemical guys has plenty of great products and great you tube videos and tutorials. This machine works great. Just gotta know what waxes and othe products you need based on the current condition of the paint/car is in.

Answer:	Trust me the warranty is not the issue on these cheap vises, its the hollow vise itself that's the issue. I mean if they sell you a big long turd and I say it has a lifetime warranty on breakage but' it breaks into anyway sure' they'll give you another turd why not? It only cost $10 bucks for the meal that made it anyways so they can replace it several times still having making profit. Eventually they know you'll call it a day and go buy another turd/tool hoping its better than this one. Fact is you get what you pay for the first time with tools and if your bending pretzels with this vise it will be a fine one forsure. Don't bend/pry on anything heavy with it though as its a very light weight vise and how I know its hollow. Understand too these warranties are only for defects, not misuse so "maybe" they'll replace the hollow turd...Maybe not, either way they already have your money now don't they?
