User questions & answers

Question: How well does this jack work with a load distribution hitch ? Is it strong enough to lift the truck up a bit
Answer: It works fine with the load distribution hitch. It is pretty strong, but I have never used it without undoing the hitch lock first.
Question: Where does the jack get its power? Can I connect it to my 7 way plug
Answer: NO DO NOT CONNECT TO THE 7 pin. You can burn out the the 7 pin cable and the wiring inside the truck, DONT DO IT.
Question: Can I power this off two 6v batteries
Answer: I'm sure you could, although it sucks the juice down . So, I'd recommend always having a continuous power source or a solar powered tricle charger always attached to the batterys.
Question: how far above the trailer frame rails does the top of the unit or motor stand? can I still lower my tailgate when this is installed
Answer: We have an F-150 and the tailgate can only be opened half way prior to encountering the jack. Also may depend on how the trailer is made.

Question: I have a forest river salem 27 rkss. has a manual tounge jack with a triangle, three bolt mount. will this match the bolt pattern
Answer: There are two different bolt patterns on this electric jack. It mounted directly to the existing bolt holes on my camper, so between the two sets of holes, I would think it should.
Question: What weight is needed for 37' forest river 2007 321fkd camper with dry weight of 8500 lbs. will a 3500 work or would a 4500 be needed
Answer: I'm not sure but our camper is 26' with a gross weight of 8200 lbs I used the 3500 lbs it seems to work fine. The only problem is the LED light will come on when it rains I called mfg they said they had a problem with the switch. They sent a new switch but it still has the same problem so I disconnected the light other than that it's great
Question: does it come with ring terminal
Answer: It's been so long since the installation, but I am pretty sure it did come ring terminal. The installation of jack took no more than 5 minutes and i spent about 45 minutes on wiring. Mine wires straight to trailer light connector and the jack works when i turn the truck lights on.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the crank sit alot higher on the trailer
Answer: Yes, which allows you to crank foot higher so less likely to drag on driveways and speed bumps.
Question: bought this back in Feb. goes high enkugh but not when wheel is attached the wheel will notswicel
Answer: I assume you meant swivel, wheel needs to be removed during transport especially if you are towing with a lower vehicle.
Question: Iis this jack made in usa or china or some other seaport
Answer: The sticker in the picture clearly says "Made in China"
Question: what is the retracted height on bottom( from mounting plate to bottom retracted
Answer: The retracted height is 4 1/2" from the bottom of the mounting plate to the foot/caster pin hole. On the OEM jack that I replaced, that height was 7 1/4. So, assuming that the jack I replaced was a standard jack, you will gain approximately 2 3/4" in clearance on the tongue. That may not seem like much, but for me, it makes the difference between bottoming out on my steep driveway or not.Note that the increased height on the top portion of jack (15 1/2" from top of mounting plate to top of jack cylinder) might now interfere with lowering/raising your vehicle tail gate, but my trailer came from the factory with an additional setback mounting location for the jack, so that isn't an issue for me.
