Question: | I noticed some cords such as the conntek have a center conductor on the twist lock end, why does this one not have it? Or is that just a spring load |
Answer: | Hi Morris, my understand of the center hole on the Conntek is that it is there to help hold on the plastic cover and that it is not a conductor. Please check with Conntek to verify. Our models have a different design and assembly and do not require this center hole. Hope this helps but please give us a call at 800-334-2004 if you would like to speak to a product specialist. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I plug this into a 30amp outlet at a campground and then plug in a household power strip to it and run a space heater and TV off it |
Answer: | I've had instances when a regular outlet was not available at the campground power pedestal, so this adapter works great to provide that connection. You plug it into the 30 amp receptacle, and then plug your regular extension cord or appliance into the household outlet on the adapter. Just be sure that you don't exceed the 15 amp rating; I would make sure that the total of all devices (if you are using an extension cord or outlet strip) doesn't exceed 1800 watts total. I would not plug a space heater into this, because I'm pretty sure that most space heaters require more current than this adapter is designed for. |
Question: | Does the side which plugs into my rv have three flat connectors |
Answer: | Your RV cord should have a male end on it (as seen in the picture). If you have a 30 amp service, I believe you have two flat and one rounded connector. This plug will allow you to connect your 30 amp RV cord to a household type 15 (or 20) amp recepticle. DO NOT try to run A/C or microwave using this plug; it is not made for that amount of power. You can use it to run low draw items- lights, fans, etc. |
Question: | Hello All, I am wondering if you can run the air conditioner using this |
Answer: | No, because in all likelihood the "source" of AC power when using this adapter to plug in to a standard 115V AC outlet is only rated for 15A max. Which means the load current that circuit can "safely" provide should not exceed 12A continuously. Most Air Conditioners, (and space heaters), other than "portable" units, are generally rated at higher amperage. |
Question: | Will this fit a Honda EU2000i companion generator |
Answer: | Both John Matthews and John Lloyd are correct. How is that possible? The answer is that Amazon merges all of the reviews, and questions and answers, together when they have different models of the same product. This adapter comes in both three and four prong male-end plugs. Some generators need four prongs on the male end. However the Honda 2000i and 2200i generators, and some other small portable generators, need three prong plugs. The bottom line is: you need to check your generator and see what sort of a connector that it needs, then order the correct adapter accordingly. |

User questions & answers
Question: | seems like the mounting system is not adequate, esp for high winds |
Answer: | If you invest a additional $7 for the Camco 44850 Gen-Turi Suction Cup mount, it should handle the wind just fine, mine has. |
Question: | Does this work when the exhaust pipe is in the rear corner of the RV |
Answer: | I think if you have a hard point on the top edge to attach the brackets, it should work. |
Question: | I have a powermax portable gennerator, and I notice some fine print that says "not for use in generator not specifically made for RV's. Does this not |
Answer: | there are many things that need to beconsidered for rv generator , first is duty cycle as a true rv generator will run for days without shut down and many others need the fuel stop to cool and check oil as well as temp as a fire could result.second a true rv generator also will run electronics with no wave form problems for tv or computer, third exhaust needs to be clean some have catalick converters and others don't which cause problems for healthh and campers next to you. fourth good generators cost more for duty cycles and quality and durability which means the cheap $200.00 generator does not work well when it is not brown out protected( there goes the ac) fifth the not knowing person points the generater exhaust under camper and fuems kill the campers inside |
Question: | purchased the genturi exhaust here on amazon late summer of 2012, some parts missing, such as the stick on parts that go on outside of RV to secure tt |
Answer: | I believe those parts were optional and not in the base kit. I had to order mine separately. (in 2015) |

This system is easy to install and disconnects quickly. It weighs only 9 lb. and has an overall length of 120". 18" extensions are available (Camco # 44872) for taller RVs.
The Camco Gen-turi RV Generator Exhaust System is a venting system designed specifically for RV generators that provides for fresher air around RVs as well as reduces generator noise. The Gen-turi utilizes a tubing and coupling system to raise generator exhaust above the top level of your RV. It can be used with RVs utilizing virtually any exhaust pipes size by way of a variety of adapters.
Additional features include: light weight design, a rubberized stabilizing/sound reduction system and a storage bag.
Reduce RV Generator Exhaust and Noise
RV generators are a popular and convenient tool for providing instant power when you on the road, but close quarters at rallies, tailgate parties and at campgrounds create a need for a reduction in the noise and exhaust fumes that they generate. This is where Gen-turi comes in. The Gen-turi is made specifically for use with RV generators,* when the vehicle is at rest. It diverts nasty fumes away from the ground, where they can be inhaled by neighboring RVers and campers, allowing you all your comforts while remaining a good neighbor. As generator exhaust is vented above the roof line of the RV and is also air cooled in a patented process. Dilution of fumes leads to less rattle that is often transferred to the vehicle body, and then the surrounding area, resulting in reducing noise all around. The Gen-turi is also conveniently light weight at only nine pounds, and comes with its own soft storage bag.
How it Works
Exhaust "noise" comes from two sources: vibration and the sound made by the actual gases leaving the exhaust pipe. Most manufacturers mount generators in a manner that uses some type of rubber material to isolate the vibration of the generator. Even though the Gen-turi is rigidly secured to the exhaust system, rubber straps are used to stabilize the Gen-turi to the coach.
This prevents transferring the vibration noise of the generator system to the coach. As an added benefit, the noise made by the gases discharging from the generator exhaust pipe is diverted upward, above the roof line of the coach. As a result, in most installations, the exhaust system is actually quieter with the Gen-turi installed.

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a 4-prong outlet in my laundry room and need a standard 110v plug for a washer/dryer combo machine. Will this adapter work, without frying it |
Answer: | This is a 120v receptacle....you need a 240v receptacle, which is different (the ground pin had a flat blade)..No convertor will convert volts. |
Question: | my gen is 5500w running, 20a/40a-120/240v,with a toggle switch. will this adapter be a better use for the higher amps |
Answer: | Each of the output jacks is rated 15 amps at 120v, so each should handle about 1,800 watts maximum. Your generator's 5,500 maximum watts is much higher and would probably fry this adapter if just one jack is connected to a load over 1,800 watts. Most extension cord plugs are 15 amps, so one typical cord can handle only about 1,800 watts maximum. |
Question: | Does this split 240v input to 120v output at each outlet |
Answer: | This splitter is NOT for 240 volt use. Splits a 30 amp 125 volt receptacle to two 125 volt 15 amp receptacles, please read manufacturers specs on this device. Electrician with 30 years experience. |
Question: | my gen is 5500w running, 20a/40a-120/240v,with a toggle switch. will this adapter be a better use for the higher amps |
Answer: | A Must Have... |

Answer: | 7 1/2". |
Question: | Is this just as heavy quality & same diameter as emt conduit 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" as mentioned at home depot/lowes |
Answer: | I used 1-1/2" conduit from Home Depot to extend the exhaust pipe on our Onan gen set, it worked great. |
Question: | Is this pipe aluminumized, or just bare steel |
Answer: | Hi. Not sure about “alumanized” but it appeared coated. I used on my motorhome to extend muffler from generator. Don’t have it any longer but don’t recall it being rusty. Hope that helps. |
Question: | What is the inside diameter of the beveled end |
Answer: | Not sure but it fits over our 1.5 inch exhaust just fine. I believe that the exhaust system cones with several fitting to fit to different sizes. |

Quick and easy installation
The Gen-turi Suction Cup Mounts are designed to quickly secure your Gen-turi exhaust system to your RV with the twist of a knob, and keep it there until you’re ready for it to come down. With the suction cup mounts, there is no need for drilling holes in your RV or potentially damaging the exterior. The suction cups can be removed at any moment and can go with you if you ever decide to move RVs.
How it Works
The Gent-uri Suction Cup Mounts have an easy twist-on method for installation. Once you have cleaned the surface of the RV and the surface of the suction cup, gently press the suction cup where you want it. While holding the suction cup against the vehicle surface, rotate the knob counterclockwise to flatten it until the small housing starts to wobble, then turn the knob clockwise until the cup is firmly attached (approximately 2 to 2 1/2 full turns). The suction cup creates an airtight seal, holding it to the side of your RV until you take it down. Once the suction cups are secured, hook the s-hooks found on Gen-turi bungee to the hole in the cap of the suction cup mount, stabilizing your Gen-turi Exhaust System. Always make sure to take down your Gen-turi Exhaust System and remove the suction cups before traveling.
