User questions & answers
Question: | what is the coverage per gallon |
Answer: | Product says 2 gallons will cover a 30 ft roof, but I found it was very thin. If you are touching up, then 1 gallon per 15ft of roof is correct. However, if your roof is now black instead of white (as mine was) you will need 2 gallons per 15x8 ft of roof to do a good, solid, opaque coat. |
Question: | Can anyone confirm the color of this material is white |
Answer: | I used this product on my RV rooftop. The coating is bright white. I used a roller to apply to the roof. The finish was reasonably smooth, but not slippery sleek. It is durable. In fact, I just cleaned my rooftop with a floorbrush and a bleach/soap/water mix. It washed clean, and the coating did not lift after a year of being applied. This coating does exfoliate like the rubber roof material, so the RV stayed cleaner and very minimal dirty black streaks from normal dirt. I rolled the coating, let it dry and went back to reseal a few places with the butyl caulk. I am happy with the result. |
Question: | does hengs roof coat work well on rubber roof previously coated |
Answer: | Yes, this product will work well on a previously coated rubber roof. Make sure all dirt/oils/grease is removed from the roof prior to application - recommend a hose and a cleaning/degreasing agent - I used Dawn dish liquid and a brush but others like Tide powder - both should give you acceptable cleaning results. Heng's has GREAT adhesion to all types of surfaces so you shouldn't have a problem. |
Question: | Is this as good as Dicor |
Answer: | This stuff is great. I've never used Dicor, I have a 30' toy hauler. 3 gallons gave me 3 coats with a good amount left over. Start with a clean roof. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What's are the ingredients of the product |
Answer: | My RV is 20 years old that we bought used a few years ago. The exterior wasn't in the best shape when we got it although the rig overall was in very good shape. When I used this product it made a very noticeable improvement to the finish, although as I put in my review it won't make it look new. The problem as I was told by a local detail shop was that the clear coat has simply worn away due to age and lack of proper care over the years. However, it made such an improvement in the appearance of the outside of the RV I was really impressed. It does make a difference on how the sun shines on it and the angle you look at it at but I suspect you might have the same issue as me. If your RV is newer and has been taken care of better than mine had, you may just have an issue with the application and buffing method you used. |
Question: | How much uv protection does this product have |
Answer: | Hi sam, this product is not a soap.so no you can't use it to wash your car or boat. This product is a one step wax, i use it after i polish a boat with meguiars 49 oxydation remover. I think meguiars 51 is the soap and you may use that one. |
Question: | how much coverage does a gallon provide |
Answer: | Black water/gray water tank deodorizer |
Question: | How much quantity (gallons) do I need of the cleaner and sealer for a 31 foot class C motor home |
Answer: | It all depends on when and how you grinder cycles. If it only cycles when it is say 3/4 full, and you put in the packet when it is almost empty, it will work just fine. If you drop it in just before it cycles, you will not get much benefit from the product. |

User questions & answers
Question: | for already painted roofs is the cleaner/activator needed |
Answer: | When I used the cleaner/activator the instructions said use the cleaner activator first to clean the roof and then apply the coating. The instructions said the cleaner/activator would cause the coating to adhere properly through some sort of chemical reaction process. Not sure if your term “paint” means the coating that is like a paint but is actually a specialized coating. |
Question: | do you have to put plastic on camper sides to protect camper from roof coating, or just careful when you apply |
Answer: | Yes. unless you are in perfect weather and there isn't a hint of breeze or you just don't care that the fine mist when unintentionally landing on that beautiful wrap you have will leave spots that will eat the wrap and well just let your imagination work. . . We spent 89 cents a roll and bought 6 rolls, for thin painters plastic that we used blue tape all around our 40ft motorhome. One year we used walmart discounted weatherization plastic with adhesive on one side. |
Question: | Do you need to apply this between the coats of sealing paint? As in do i need to use this primer then paint then primer again then paint |
Answer: | Not according to the instructions. It is the cleaner/activator and does an excellent job of cleaning. The activator part is just to prepare the old roof material that has weathered so the new coating adheres solidly. If you apply two coats of the roofing material and the second coat is added shortly after the first coat, within hours or days you should not need the cleaner activator between coats. |
Question: | I have a 2001 fleetwood pace arrow how do i know what the roof material is? the white coating is almost gone |
Answer: | I looked at your specs on line you have a rubber roof. |

Liquid Rubber Waterproof Sealant is an environmentally friendly coating that is easily brushed on and cures into a waterproof membrane. It can be used in many applications where you need to create a watertight seal. Flat Roofs, Metal Roofs, Sloped Roofs, Planter Boxes, Foundations, Sheds, Basements, Metal, Wood, Concrete and more. Use Liquid Rubber Seam Tape or Liquid Rubber Geo-Textile to bridge seams, joints, vents, protrusions to create a long lasting repair or rejuvenation.
Apply when temperature is above 40F/5C. Apply to a dry surface, free of dirt, loose flaky paint and coatings, oil, grease, coal tar or other contaminants. Typically cures within 24-48 hrs. Do not freeze. Store in a warm area. Do not apply in wet conditions or if rain is forcasted within 24 hrs. Not meant as a constant walking surface.
Coverage - Vertical Surfaces - Apply a minimum final thickness of 1 gallon/30 sq ft (2.8 sq m). It should require around 3-4 heavy coats to achieve a 30 mil (0.76mm) (DFT) membrane.
Flat/Ponding Surface - Apply a minimum final thickness of 1 gallon/15 sq ft (1.4 sq m). It should require around 4-5 heavy coats to achieve a 60-80 mil (1.5-2mm) (DFT) membrane.
Apply next coat when dry to touch and nothing is wet underneath; tacky is okay.
Generally 12-24 hrs between heavy coats. Amounts vary depending on surface roughness.
Use all material up to achieve a long lasting membrane.
Avoid hot, direct, intense sunlight during application. Remove Painters Tape while still wet. Membrane will turn brown in ponding situations due to surfactants. Will dissipate over time as the water cycles and cleans.
Clean Up - Use soap and water or mineral oil to clean skin.

User questions & answers
Question: | Temperature range for install? Any duration of said temperature after install |
Answer: | Temperature when I installed the rubber roof was in the 90s. Had to do the roof when weather permitted, summer been very rainy. |
Question: | Temperature range for install? Any duration of said temperature after install |
Answer: | My husband took one whole day putting this rubber roof on. It was very hot that day the roof did fine in super hot temperatures but I would suggest doing it on a cloudy day. Not because of the roof but because of maybe a heat stroke. We would buy another if need to. |
Question: | Does it have instructions? Found none in the order I just received |
Answer: | It does not come with instructions, but they do have a video on their website. I think there was one on youtube also. Suggestion is make sure that the roof is really clean because every little piece of debris will show up as a lump, lay it on the roof before you glue it and do the roof 1/2 at a time not every couple of feet like some of the videos online show. |
Question: | Is it shipped folded or rooled |
Answer: | I can only verify information on item sold by classAcustoms Item is folded and ships in two boxes. |

User questions & answers
Question: | foot RV roof how many gallons do I need |
Answer: | Depends on how many coats you want. If your roof is black down to the rubber, if put a minimum 3 coats. 1 and a third to 1 and a half gallons per coat for a 38 foot. |
Question: | Can this have a color added to it? Looking for black |
Answer: | Being a long time rv'er, black would be a terrible color. It will fade quickly and bake in the summers, especially if you live in the south. |
Question: | can this go over Eternabond roof sealer |
Answer: | Just to add to the above answer, Eternabond Roof-Seal has shiny white roofing film, possibly pvc roofing, that is meant to be the top protective layer. To coat this product, you could rough up the finish with coarse sandpaper or use a roof primer made specifically for this purpose. It comes in spray on or brush on. I used a different Eternabond product, called Web-Seal. It has a knitted polyester fabric top, that is made to accept coatings, like Liquid Roof, Dicor, or cheaper elastomerics. |
Question: | Does this product protect against sun damage |
Answer: | Yes. It protects the ultra violet light from damaging the EDM rubber top. That's the main purpose of the product. Without the coating, the top will start to turn to chalk and or crack causing leaks. Was a lot of dirty work, but saved me from needing to replace the EDM rubber top {$3500.00 to $4500.00. Hope this helps to answer your question. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How much does this product cover |
Answer: | My pull trailer is 8.5 wide by 28 feet long on the box. I was not stingy with the product and I used about half of each of the jugs. I believe the product calls for two coats on the finish coat and that is what I did. |
Question: | Can both be used on all of my travel trailer or just the rubber roof |
Answer: | Just the rubber. |
Question: | Can this product be used on all rubber roofs? epdm safe |
Answer: | Hey Douglas, these are EPDE safe. Not recommended for TPO roofs. The Protectant part, Part 2, is not required for TPO roofs. You only need Part 1 for TPO roofs.Give us a call at 800-334-2004 or email us at [email protected] if we can be of further assistance. Thank you. |
Question: | How do you clean the roof, mop and bucket of water? Product go into bucket or on roof? You don't have to rinse the roof off with a hose and water |
Answer: | I cleaned my RV roof off by using a scrub brush connected to a broom handle. I would pour the cleaner (I don't recall if I had to mix it with water or not but I followed the directions on the container), on the roof and scrub it back and forth a few times to loosen the dirt and I would keep a hose up on my roof at the same time, that way I could do a section at a time, and hose it off before it had a chance to dry. Also hose off the sides so the dirty residue from the roof doesn't leave drip or stain marks |

Question: | After application, can I seal over this with henge’s rod sealer |

Answer: | I've been using it for two years. I've used it on leaks and it is bulletproof. It's expensive but once it's on, you will need a razor blade to get it off. |
Question: | you need to use the spray primer? It does not have good reviews but I don't see where it is saying it is required in the remarks for the tape |
Answer: | I used it two month ago without the spray primer and it seem to be doing a very good job. Just make sure the surface is clean and free of dirt. I used alcohol. |

Question: | My rv roof is 8'3" wide. can i make the 8.5 product work or do i need to go with this |
Answer: | I’m sure a tech who has replaced many RV roofs could probably get away with the 8.5’ membrane. I have an 8’3” roof and opted for the 9.5’ kit. I have years of experience building and remodeling but only the second time working on an RV. I started as straight as possible but by the time I made it to the other end I had 1/2” over on one side and 12” on the other! It turned out great but if I had tried to use the 8.5’ membrane it would not have worked. |
