I could not remove it on a family member's 2014 Malibu using my hands, and my existing wrench didn't fit over the filter. I ended up piercing it will a large screwdriver and using that for leverage. Not ideal. Buying a wrench as discussed in another Q&A.

Answer:	I've used this on my 2013 Nissan Sentra instead of the 6607 that is specified. The thread and fit is exactly the same, except this filter is about 3/4 inch longer, which does not interfere with anything. The 7317 (by my guess) has ~50% more filter material than the 6607. This filter is also specified for the Nissan Titan trucks, if I recall.

Answer:	It will fit but I upgraded to the FRAM XG4967 Ultra Synthetic Spin-On Oil Filter and use Mobile1 synthetic oil. It's pricier but adds a lot more protection for the Generac especially in very cold or hot weather. I live in Michigan and the Generac cranks easily with quick start-ups in really cold temps. These machines start running @ 3600 RPM and this filter has a check valve to ensure lubrication available immediately.

Answer:	The 108 was made to go with the 15,000 mile Mobil 1 Extended oil. The 108A was made to go with the introduction of the ANNUAL Mobil 1 oil. They are identical in size, threads etc. I was using the 108 before, the ordered the 108A, at the same or lower price from Amazon. Fit my '14 Mazda CX-5 with 98K miles just fine a few months ago. Maybe the insides are a bit different but I don't know.

I tried to remove it using the Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench but that wrench was a little loose and I couldn't get the filter off, it just spun (works like a champ on the M1 filter though). I will be picking up the "UNIBODY Oil Filter Socket by JTC 4553" which looks like it will be just snug enough to fit at 63.8 mm. Good luck.

Answer:	I wanted to read what others thought of my situation, since y'all have real experience and real data. My engine takes 9 quarts of synthetic 5W 30. I don't drive 1000 miles in a year. Even 2 years. It ran great, until a rat ate my valve timing adjustment actuator cables. They're discontinued but I'll keep trying to fix it. My oil never looked dirty in it's life. I have about 90,000 miles. I change it once a year, just for papering it. I accidentally went 2 years last year because I failed the inspection. I told them to go ahead and do the oil change but ... communication breakdown. But the oil still looked fine. It did have a slight orange tint, but it was clear as can be. My guess is that something rusted a little. Any guesses? Maybe I could pull the valve covers and spray some CRC Lithium spray lube to protect the cams, if those are the most exposed parts. Since my engine requires so much oil, they charged me $170 for an oil change and that's with the cheap filters and Valvoline oil. Most people don't care. I'm doing my own from now on, like I always used to. The hardest thing about an oil change is getting under the car. There's no road clearance. I have to jack it up, put wood under it until I get a stand under it, jack up the other side, and repeat until high enough to remove the engine pan and THAT'S really is a pain. Afterwards, I have to find a place to dispose of the oil and filter. ANYWAY, since I'm putting 9 quarts in, and I seldom drive even 500 miles in a year, does anyone think that a 2 year interval is plenty? (Especially since I'll put the saved money into better quality oil, much better quality filters in the engine oil, air and cabin)?
