These rings go bad because of alcohol in fuel so dealer should have in stock. Alcohol in fuel makes them go bad. when you remove filter sometimes it will not go back on because alcohol ruined it. |

| Answer: | The gas filter I s above the clear bowl and if there is water in your gas the clear bowl will allow you to see it. Typically you will see round goblets of water lying in the bottom of the bowl. Unless you have a lot of water in the gas tank you will not see much at all but the filter /Seperator will protect your engine from any water that may be in the fuel tank. If you do not see water in the clear bowl that is a good thing. The reason you had to pump the bulb 200 times is that you had to fill up the fllter and bowl before the engine develops enough vacuum with the gas pump to pull the gas to the engine. |
