You would need to purchase a longer suction pipe, but the M-180 pump can prime with an automatic nozzle at 58 inches with diesel and 73 inches with gasoline. Having a clean filter in the system has little impact on the suction lift distance but it may increase the time it takes to pull a prime. All performance will be compromised by a clogged filter. Answer:	Has Amazon rated this fuel pump for your vehicle? As I recall, though it's been a while, the wiring from the vehicle clips in. How is the existing fuel pump installed if you have no wiring to it? This pump fit my '94 Camry. When I changed the fuel pump in my 20R pickup, (with a carburetor) the pump was electric, but a different low pressure version. It is odd the photo with the original item shows a wiring clip, but the photo next to this question posting does not. You should be able to use your existing wiring if you have the compatible part. If your wiring does not connect to the pump, I would take that as an indication you need a different fuel pump.Somewhat guessing here. The Denso 951-0001 was a direct replacement for the 5S-FE engine - but that is a different series than the 22 RE.
Question:	I'm guessing this does not come with the regulator. I believe I have low pressure (fuel trim ~35%), should the pump/regulator be replaced together
Answer:	Yes, just the pump. My issue was that my Toyota Echo that I purchased...sat for two years...I replaced the fuel pump (no fuel at all). When I left the car overnight or non-use for an hour or more...the fuel pressure would be lost. I suspected a leaky fuel injector...ordered a new set of 4 Denso OEM injectors. In the meantime, I ran the fuel tank to about a half and put in a full can of Seafoam in...ran that to almost empty. Once I filled up again, the pressure leak vanished...so either the fuel pressure regulator came unstuck or whatever was causing the injector to leak either dissolved or pushed its way through.

Question:	Will it fit 2011 and up? I have a 2011 lml thanks
Answer:	The nipples on each end of the filter take 1/4" or 5/16" hose that's why they step down if your using 1/4" hose you slide the hose up the nipple half way. If your using 5/16" hose you slide it all the way up the nipple until it hits the base of the filter on each side. I can't believe how many people couldn't figure that out.
Question:	Does this include the fuel filter housing
Answer:	Short answer yes. Most diesel engines have some kind of filter system are you using this as a prefilter? If using on a fuel storage tank there are better filters for that job.
Question:	Will this fit a 2006 Silverado
Answer:	Normal filter function is for the dirt to land on the outside of the filter element, and clean fluid to exit from the middle of the element. So with the pictured filter, fuel should enter the tapered end and exit the 'square' end. Having siad that, look at my review (user MCSOPHIE). : I don't know what product other reviewers got, but the one pictured is absolutely worthless. Look closely at the hose fittings on each end in the adv. photo. There's no bead around the fitting, to retain the hose you'll attach on each end. In fact, the actual product has a slight taper, away from the filter body. So when you attach a fuel line, especially one with oil premix (2 stroke engine), the hose just slides right off. A hose clamp only accelerates the process. Fortunately, I was using Urethane fuel line and it slipped off almost instantly. Someone using regular rubber fuel line might install the filter and the line wouldn't pop off until the engine is operating, and they'd get a massive dose of fuel on a hot exhaust system.
Question:	Will it mount up right for a 2002 Chevy
Answer:	I am using them on a gravity system with about one foot of head feeding a 25 horse engine. No problems.

Question:	Will these filters replace the filters on the lift pumps rated for 165GPH
Answer:	I believe they are the same filters as the air dog 165. You could always email them to make sure they are correct.

Answer:	Yes but bigger pumps may require bigger filters. But as far as universal hook up yes they fit all
