Answer:	I don’t notice any change in flow. This filter does not noticeably restrict airflow in my system even relative to a brief test of the flow with no filter. I’m sure there’s some reduction and it could be measured with the proper equipment, but I don’t have such equipment. So to keep the ducts and air clean my approach is to use the highest quality filter I can as long as plenty of air is exiting the vents when the system is on. That, and visibly dirty filters after a few months of use indicated a good balance between back pressure and particle filtration.

Answer:	I have a Honda Civic; '13. I bought it with 10K miles back in '14. I have had 2 oil changes with the 3rd oil change coming up in August; don't drive very much and oil change interval every 6k. I recently replaced the cabin filter which had a ton of small leaves on top of it and noticeably dirty, and figured I should check the engine air filter. The filter was caked with dirt; how did the engine breathe?? At the time prior to replacement, I averaged 32-34 mpg. After replacement, I am at the same (32.8 currently). So to answer your question, go with what the owners manual says.
